Haha, I never did bother buying anyone's contract out since the Penguins are all pretty gewd in the game. I made it to the 2016-2017 season before I got bored, ended up with four Stanley Cups with all simulated games. I think by then the only current Penguin players that were left on the team were Letang and Malkin. Traded Crosby to the Coyotes for first, second, and third round draft picks halfway through. He went into a slump, I didn't need him bringing my team down. Fucking crybaby.

An NHL executive said last night that replay officials in Toronto were not given the proper replays by Fox Sports in Pittsburgh on Thursday, when they ruled that Simon Gagne's goal did not count against the host Penguins.
Gagne swatted a second-period rebound that Penguins goalie Brent Johnson smothered and appeared to carry into the net. It was not ruled a goal on the ice, and when replay officials in Toronto viewed the replays, they said the evidence was "inconclusive" and did not count the goal.
A few minutes after the ruling, another replay was shown in the press box, showing the puck past the goal line.
Fox did not send that replay to Toronto officials until after the puck was dropped following the ruling.
"At that point, the ruling was permanent," said John Dellapina, an NHL executive.
The Flyers' telecast was using the Pittsburgh video feed and did not have any video to send to Toronto.
I don't watch toooo much hockey, but WTF? how can you let the review process be so easily influenced by the home team's feeds?
Not cost effective to use two different network feeds.
I was always under the impression the place in Toronto had its own separate feed to actually look at things, guess I was wrong. Even so, I'm going to try avoiding sounding like I'm biased, because I thought it was wrong too when they showed that feed and our announcers were like "lol whoops" but I would think it would be smart for Toronto to demand every camera angle, and not just sit there and watch the same replays we're watching as viewers before they make the call.
The league cheating for Pittsburgh? Get Out!!! Really?
You can't be that surprised.
Did you even read the article? I mean, I know the Rangers fanbase especially thinks that the NHL sucks Crosby's dick on a daily, but it had nothing to do with the NHL. It was the fault of FSN-Pittsburgh, not the league. But oh wait, doesn't matter, Penguins are teh DEBBILS!
Stupid of the FSN crew if they did it on purpose, unless they all secretly hate the Pens and want to help all of the conspiracy theorists by giving them ammo.
Ugly game last night. We need that gif of Cloutier missing the beachball. Now shop in Fleury instead of Cloutier. I know people are excited about the Olympics coming up, but wake the hell up. The Pens are fine, it's just irritating as balls to see them losing to teams they should be beating. On the plus side, I think we're watching Jordan Staal finally have the break out season we've all been expecting.
that first goal he let in was lol.
also, Gonchar is a bitch for not being able to hit, but thx for racking up 5 mins for me!!!
Yeah I was moderately amused at his penalty. I think he was trying to do his Pronger impression![]()
Man rough weekend, Hawks drop a couple of awful ones and I got laid out by a 12 year old on the pond and managed to catch a cold from being out there 2 days in a row, lol. On the upside I wasn't the worst person at the first day of instructionals.
I'm back!

I saw people playing hockey on a frozen pond in Pittsburgh, which is really rare, we usually aren't cold enough, long enough, to get frozen lakes and stuff.
Lastly, I really really like Tim Horton's (which I tried on vacation but sadly isn't in Pittsburgh).
Alex Burrows told the media after last nights loss that the ref has a vendetta against him and actually told him that he was going to go out of his way to give him penalties. He got just that last night with some seriously brutal officiating near the end of the game.

Sadly I think nothing will come of it other than a fine and possibly a suspension for Burrows for saying those things publicly.
I don't know. For any NHL player to say that, they know the consequences are going to be severe. Burrows may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but I don't think he would make a claim like that for no reason. Plus the fact that his story of the alleged incident is pretty damned detailed leads me to think he didn't think this up on the fly. Should be interesting to see what happens.
Video of the ref talking to Burrows before the game has come out. You can't see what they are saying but it definitely adds weight to his claims. Plus this ref has a pretty shady history, he was the ref who did the no goal call on detroit last season.
You know, as I watched Malkin turn the puck over for the fourteenth time in last night's game, I thought to myself, "Wow, Staal is playing better than Malkin."
The chemistry between our third line is something that can't be rivaled I think. I kind of wish Caputi could remain in the NHL, at least right now, we'll see how well he does over this extended period of time with Kunitz out. Malkin really needs someone like Malone on his wing, though. When is Tangradi supposed to be ready? I just hope if Malkin and Caputi end up having amazing chemistry, Bylsma doesn't move Caputi onto Crosby's wing next year when we don't resign Guerin because he's as old as dirt, even if he's playing like no one else on our team right now.
EDIT: Also, for those of you who watched the Penguins v. Wild game, or even watched highlights or something...
I hate to be mean to kids, I really do. But did any of you see the fat kid behind the Wild's coach? Goddamn he was so fucking scary looking. He looked like a damn doll, like a real life, brown-haired, fat Chucky doll. FUCK, so scary.
I was flipping back n forth from the pens-wild game...why do the wild fans hate gonchar? I kept hearing epic boos when he had the puck.
