Oilers-Pens is way more important than Flyers-Leafs.
I actually feel bad for the Oilers right now. Course I won't feel bad while the Pens are playing them.
No mercy on this pathetic trainwreck tonight. They've won 1 of their last -13- games. No mercy at all.

I miss Ron Hextall. Guy was fucking nuts.
round these parts we call that a 'Huet goal'
3-on-1 with 6 cross-ice passes in 4 seconds and a blazing one-timer? He makes the stop in a break-dancing pose with the blade of his skate, no problem.
Routine dump from center ice that banks off the wall just inside the blue line? Turn the big red light on.
I thought Niemi bitchslapped him and said sit the fuck on the bench.
Huet's still the starter, and he's still good most of the time, he just tends to get caught off-guard by crazy fluke goals incredibly often while routinely making ridiculously difficult saves.
Niemi still has a bit to go before he's ready for a full-time workload, he's very good but he still has yet to be in a situation where he sees 30+ shots afaik, they play really good defense in front of both goalies, if you look their GAAs are near tops in the league but their actual save %s are kinda meh.
I remember when he chased Robbie Brown after he scored on him. Seriously, who does that lol.
If Scott Stevens played during this era of hockey, would he be considered a dirty player? Debate go!
Tough to say, because players have clearly gotten stronger, faster, and the various means to 'speed up the game' really play another factor.
had 3 games picked tonight:
Montreal over Dallas
Toronto over Philly
Atlanta over Buffalo...lost this one in OT![]()
Blackhawks net their 8th team shutout tonight, 4th for Huet. They said on the radio that it's a league leading 8th shutout. Much better game than the last two they lost on the weekend, expected them to bounce back like this.
Rangers played like shit tonite
Wings back into a playoff spot, with LA on sort of a slide and 2 games in hand on Minnesota, the 2 teams behind them. Franzen should be back immediately after the Olympic break, and Kronwall should be back by then as well which will be a huge help. The team is starting to resemble the '08 Wings more, they have nowhere near the firepower of last year but are doing far better defensively and Jimmy Howard is playing great.
I don't wanna talk about the game vs the Islanders though.
