No... light the NIGHT BEACON FOR MARK EATON!!
I fell asleep during the second intermission. Apparently the Penguins did too?
REAL fans dont fall asleep during hockey games...only intermissions
=/
All is forgiven if its a Devils' game.
I think there's one faggle on BG from Jersey, occasionally pokes his head in to say how sweet it is when a game only has 1 goal against + an empty netter. The Jersey Shore cast certainly never mentioned the Devils.
I bet at least one cast member has been invited to a game this season, to be put on the celeb cab. Fucking bank on it.
I have family who are Devils fans, and would rather go to Rangers games. Fucking Devils.
Not directed towards Oxy or Karma but I'm loving how much Rangers fans are screaming about Carcillo. Come on. My feelings towards Philadelphia are well documented so you all know how much it pains me to back up Philly over anything. Gaborik initiated that entire incident. Carcillo just put him down like any other player in the league would have done.
There's a few people in the league I wouldn't really go out of my way to start a fight with, Carcillo is one of them, lol. Yes he's a total fucking goon, but really if you don't want to get punched in the face, ignore him.
Here's my thing with the Carcillo/Gaborik fight.
After the whistle he went after Gaborik with no cause. At that point some Ranger, ANY Ranger on the ice had to step in. Once Carcillo got Gaborik out of the crowd, kudos to Gaborik for going -- fucking shame on every other skater for not doing anything about it.
I'm salty because the Rangers again showed how soft they are. Philly isn't a good team, they're just a physical team, and that's all it took to stop the Rangers.
The Rangers clearly needed MATT BRADLEY OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE

It's a shame Brashear didn't dress for the game, could've been a lot better. And as much as I hate Carcillo and his creepy porn-stache, he made that fight happen, that's what good goons do. Whistle, scrum, everyone locks up with someone, and when he saw it was Gabby he tried to provoke him and it worked. You can't really even blame the other Rangers on the ice 'cos most of the action was right by the net, and then Gaborik and Carcillo peel off and by then it's too late.
What's lost is how good Emery played, got the shutout and picked up an assist on Pronger's ridiculously slow headman pass to van Riemsdyk. If he can stay healthy and sharp, I don't think anyone wants to draw Philly in the first round.
I don't care who the Pens play, aslong as its not fucking New Jersey. I think they're the team to avoid in the East. Buffalo also plays really defensively, but nowhere near the way New Jersey can play and Miller is pretty consistent, but he has a hiccup every here and there, where as Brodeur is seemingly bullet proof lately. Hes already got like 4 more shutouts since he his record breaker 6 weeks ago against the Pens.
Could you imagine a Buffalo-New Jersey ECF? Talk about a killer for the league. Two small markets, two of the least entertaining offenses and styles in the league.
Buffalo plays so cautious it's annoying. I wish I could see a 4 man break one day, but the Sabres will never do it. IF a defenseman pushes up, a winger immediately drops back. Granted, it's the responsible thing to do, but still...
For the record, I think Brodeur is better than Miller. Miller will always have good positioning, and make the saves he should make. But look at his shootout record? Sabres have lost 3 straight shootouts, two of them were with Miller in goal, and the one he wasn't in goal, Lalime made like 6 shootout saves.
Oh, and off topic... For Christmas, my Dad got me an autographed Tyler Myers photo framed and shit, with an autographed Sabres puck. My Mom had my Sabres jersey embroidered with Myers number/name.
Those were two pretty cool gifts if I do say so myself. It's kinda hard to buy shit for me since I don't really need anything, and if I want something I normally just buy it myself. Those were two things I probley would have never gotten done for myself.
Semi-big picture:
Spoiler: show
A ghost from the past sneaks into last night's NHL.com NYR-PHI coverage. Clicking it links to the Asham vs Voros fight.
Brashear didn't dress for a slew of reasons. One he has an alledged hamstring injury. Two -- regardless of the opponent, after coming off a 6-2, then 8-2 win, you don't change your lineup. I don't think anyone would do that. Third -- Brashear has been GARBAGE all season. He's avoided fights, avoided getting hit, he's been a fucking shell. I put this as one of the worse signings Sather has ever made. Sure money/years wise -- Redden and Drury are significantly worse. But how do you sign a guy after he litterally broke your player's face?
Oh also -- Voros (who Brashear would have likely replaced lastnight) has been decent lately. A goal and 2 fights on Tuesday, and had some fights lastnight. He easily did what Brashear would have avoided
Yeah I saw he had a hamstring thing after the fact, I was just thinking to myself while watching the highlights on NHL.com that the first two guys I would expect to see mixing it up in a game like that would be Avery and Brash. He was always our default fighter, and probably the biggest fan favorite goon in DC since Stephen Peat, although Bradley seems to be gaining on him now.
