Trade you for Huet.
Trade you for Huet.
Throw in Campbell and we'll give you Lydman/Montador for free!
If they traded Campbell back that be all kinds of hilarity, especially after the way he was booed in Buffalo last game.
Watching the Flyers vs Flames game on Comcast Sports Net, good lord this is putting me to sleep. I turned it off for the period with 5 mins left in the 1st and at that point both teams had 5 shots. Halp meee. One positive thing is they got fucking Bill Clemente as an announcer/color commentator, nice.
Looks like that trade is working out well for Calgary so far.
I felt bad for Jokinen lol, has to be hard to play a game knowing that you have to pack for another team as soon as it's over.
Jokinen deal is official

Re: Miller on the Olympic team, I really think that if he doesn't get his shit together soon, Jonathan Quick is going to take over the starting goaltender spot, or at least he should. He's the only one of the 3 goalies that's actually playing well right now, but I know in the Olympics, experience is a big deal to the coaches so it'll probably never happen.
For those who didn't saw it well, habs lost cammalari Saturday

shit hurts
"And nothing of value was lost"
The officiating last night was horrendous. The holding call on Orpik with two minutes left was one of the worst calls I've seen in a while. The Pens still won, but God damn. It's a little tough playing against a good team along with playing against the zebras. If Miller plays this way in the Olympics, the US is fucked. He's been horrible the last few weeks. At this point I would welcome Quick starting for the the team. Miller looks like shit. I don't know if the pressure has gotten inside his head or not, but he needs to fix that shit. Now.
I have to admit I'm extremely surprised Calgary is basically blowing up their roster. They weren't exactly tearing it up this year, but still. They trade away two of their bigger stars and receive underachievers and never will be's in return. Strange line of thought. I hope Giguere does well in Toronto. It's not out of any particular love of Toronto, more out of respect for a classy player. Toronto as a whole can still choke on a dick.
Calgary is doing what Chicago will have to do next year. Calgary had almost all their salary cap space dedicated to 14 players or so, making them primed for a run last year, but in big trouble when the cheap contracts expired. Just take a look at NHLnumbers and see all the people that will be UFA after this year on Calgary, almost half the team. Chicago will be in this sort of a bind after this year considering they have 56 mil tied up in 16 players.
Calgary is doing what they must in order to rebuild for the future, since they screwed themselves with big contracts.
I'm hoping they can just dump a big contract or two such as Campbell/Huet/Barker. I don't think that Niemi is quite ready to be a #1 goalie, but at this point he can't do much worse than Huet(not that Huet has been terrible, but he's let some pretty crappy goals by).
Also reports are that Dave Bolland is going to be ready to go for tomorrow, once he's back into game shape they're only going to get nastier, he's a great center.
Jokinen was terrible for the flames. If Graboski plays even at the same level he was playing in Toronto he'll be a better player for Calgary than Jokinen was. Ian White is having a better year than Phaneuf is but everyone keeps talking about what Phaneuf was and kind of glossing over how he's been regressing since his rookie year.
This had to happen, Calgary fucked themselves by giving up Cammalleri. Their defense is decent but not providing the offensive numbers they were expected to provide.
Any time you lose a a proven goal scorer you're worse off. Period. Graboski is going to be another early career Kovalev. But without him turning into a reliable offensive weapon. Where's Martin Rucinsky when we need him.
They picked a terrible time to self-destruct too, I've been rooting for them since they were keeping Detroit off the playoff bubble![]()
Rangers and Kings tonight. Oh boy.
Heh, Kopitar vs. Gaborik sounds fun, but that doesn't sound good for NYR, lol.
