Kovalchuk to the mother fucking piece of shit devils of all teams. Link incoming.
Talk about a loaded fucking division...
Pens (Crosby/Malkin)
NJD (Parise/Kovalchuk)
Philly (Carter/Richards)
New York Rangers (Gaborik... maybe Jokinen will pan out too)
New York Islanders (Tavares, and the franchise a year or two from turning the corner, although hopefully Kovalchuk won't be in the division beyond Spring)
According to a Twitter report thing:
"I can now confirm Bergfors, Oduya, a 1st round pick, and Mattias Tedenby are headed to the Thrashers for Kovalchuk."
If that's the case... ATL got hosed.
Ok, replace Tedenby with Sepukku's favorite player....
Patrice Cormier is a Thrasher!
Wow! At least the Hawks didn't get him and blow the future for the present lol.
My new least favorite player is Olli Jokinen. That is all.
Always enjoyed seeing Kovalchuk play, glad he's in Penguins division now.
Do you think the devils have more chance to be a serious contestant to win the cup with kovy now?
idk they have to pull their heads out of their asses, last 2 weeks have been pretty shitty. shutout to the leafs? comon
BK did I miss the memo where there always has to be at least one guy in the box tonight?
Thrashers actually got a fine deal, they lose Kovy for less than 30 games and got some guys in return. If Kovalchuk was turning down offers now he would turn them down in the offseason, and they would lose him to free agency for nothing.
And for Callisto, the Wings playing at the Palace in Auburn Hills is fairly unlikely, if it does happen it will almost undoubtedly be temporarily while Illitch builds a new arena for the Wings in Detroit. He's already been buying property to get it done, the question is just when.
Probably because of his 500-point milestone. But Backstrom was amazing tonight. Callahan and Prospal were everywhere too. Outside of Ovie's inside-out move to end the 2nd, he was just okay.
I got tickets for tomorrow's game against Atlanta... oops. I just hope they have the game and we don't get 24+ inches of snow here (again.)
I'm just glad the Rangers didn't trade for Kovalchuk.
But between him going to the Devils, and blowing a 5-3 lead over the Caps... Sather will do something soon...something possibly very dumb...I fear it. He doesn't have it in him to just admit this season as a failure.
Edit: I had already planned to go to the Rangers v. Devils game with my dad on Saturday. Oh man, I expect the worse.
People who say the Thrashers got hosed need to remember its a RENTAL. For 6-16 weeks of Kovalchuk only, the Devils gave up a proven rookie who will be a 30g/yr guy (hes already got 13 G / 14 A in his rookie year this season under the offensively stagnant Lou LOLlirrello), a decent defenseman, a top prospect / Islamic Radicalized Terrorist who will be banned from the NHL in 2 years, and a 1st round draft pick.
Compare that to what the Thrashers gave up Hossa for. Colby Armstrong, a failed prospect, and a 1st round pick? And they gave up to us in addition to Hossa a solid PKer, 3rd-line-talent winger who we still use today, Pascal Dupius.
The Thrashers got an AMAZING deal, and the Devils got a pretty damn good deal too (assuming Kovalchuk doesn't get hurt over the Olympics, which would make me LAUGH MY ASS OFF). As a Penguins fan, I wasn't concerned when the Flyers got Pronger. But I'm definitely worried over the Devils with Kovalchuk.
