One word. MEH. More terrible defense from Schultz and company, almost made up for by the Laich/Flash/Semin line and Green's wicked wrister on the PP. Neuvi goes out hurt (again) and we hang Theo out to dry. Maybe now that the streak's over, we can get back to playing some solid defense. We looked soft against the Rangers and Pens and were lucky to have the streak go this long. Only good news is that Varly is traveling with the team.

I'll concede that we didn't lose the game because of the disallowed goal (we lost the game because I wasn't wearing my OV jersey and lucky Caps, obv). I also drank whiskey and soda instead of my usual whiskey and water. So I blame myself. But I still think it's a bullshit call. I don't get the interference bit at all because the hit was far enough away from Price, and if it was actually interference then OV should have been whistled for a penalty. The only solution is to nuke Canada, but we should wait until the offseason to make sure we hit Crosby.

Agreed that the loss was long overdue though. We've been playing inconsistently for a while now, and falling behind early was bound to catch up to us eventually. Teams tend to have a letdown after a streak snaps, so it wouldn't surprise me if we lose to Ottawa. The streak was fun but I am almost glad it's over. We need to tune up for the playoffs when we get back from the Olympics. We can't expect to come from behind every night in May.
