Man now that I look back over the '04 draft that was a badass year for the Hawks, lol. Barker & Ladd at 3/4(well Ladd went to Canes but still), Dave Bolland, Bryan Bickell & Jake Dowell(solid AHL prospects), and Troy Brouwer as a 7th rounder, what a fucking steal

Things were bound to go downhill once he wasn't on San Jose, since the only really great thing about Cheechoo was having him on the same team as Setoguchi, that team was a Chipchurra away from having all of the funnest-to-say NHL last names on the same team.

May waved, sad to see him to go but salary needed to be moved. Maltby might be getting season (career?) ending surgery that he doesn't absolutely need, but would put him in LTIR and clear enough salary for Lilja to come back without further moves.

Tomorrow might be the first time in almost a year that a full Wings defensive lineup takes the ice, Kronwall and Lilja both practiced today.

That's a relatively clean solution to that at the least. I don't see them shipping many people out since I'm pretty sure they're still expecting themselves to end up in the playoffs.

nah Johnson's just a rental til the end of the season then his contract expires and he's gone, they cleared 3m off of next year's cap hit by not having Barker on the payroll, he still had another year or two left on his.

I can deal with Barker going, inevitably they're going to have to lose someone like Sharp, Versteeg, or Brouwer though, and that's going to make me a sad panda. As long as Hjalmarsson stays I'll be ok though.

Haha, I'm amazed the Rangers can beat the Penguins with 2 of their top players out, but with a full lineup they cant.

Last night the Flyers beat the Habs. My question is regarding how the game ended. Powe gets a major and Hamlrik or something gets a minor. Yet the Habs get the PP. Shouldn't it be 4 on 4 for the first two minutes, then 5 vs 4 for the remaining 3 of the major?

Huge win for the Wings tonight, a win in regulation in the last game before the break, breaking a 4 game losing streak and possibly edging into a playoff spot depending on the results of other games tonight. Datsyuk looked amazing tonight, can't wait to see Russia's games during the Olympics. Franzen continued his PPG streak since returning from injury with an empty netter!
