Ryan's a winner. Unlike Perry. Kesler's empty netter is #1 play on Sportscenter this morning.

It was pretty great where I was watching it, the kid's hockey practice had just let out and the adults were waiting to start, and about 15 dads simultaneously turned to their kids like "See how Kesler hustled there? You remember that, for a long, long time."

its some great hockey though. i recorded the sweden/finland game. gonna watch it when i get home from work. midnight was a little too late to watch that game.

i love how Whitney and Gleason got like 2 shifts that entire game. Bugg-eye Brooks was out alot though

My favorite part about the game yesterday was all the non-hockey fans asking me questions about hockey today. I think that one did a lot to win some new fans over. With luck we will play for the gold and the bandwagon will get bigger. There is room on board for everyone.

I salute the Americans who truly love Hockey. Ya'll should see the fans after each game. No matter what nation wins, everyone is going nuts. Lol. I've never heard the Slovak national anthem, but i heard it after they beat Russia.

Even with all the bandwagon jumping in the US, this won't save Phoenix. Fuckin Bettman move that team to Ontario.

Ovechkin represents Canada and Jagr is Babcock if Canada loses to the Germans. I don't want to say it won't happen since Canada got knocked out by the Swiss in 2006 but seriously if that happens my city may burn.

Is it just me or has Pronger and Niedermayer not done much so far?

I was puzzled by their selection to the team, since Niedermayer hasn't had a good season at all.

Niedermayer has been playing way better than Pronger. What's scary is how good Doughty has looked. He's 20 and playing pretty solid for his first Olympics, if Crosby isn't the captain of the next olympic team I won't be surprised if it's Doughty.

I think Babcock got the nod because he has coached one of the better teams for the past few years... in the past 2 years at least he has done great work, this year he's really getting called into question though because of the sub-par performance of the Wings and now Canada.

Jagr could still be a top forward in the NHL is he wasn't so hungry for money (and a weaker league, probably).

Pronger and Niedermeyer got on the team because of reputation and experience... if they went with the best defensemen Bouwmeester should have been on the roster at least.

Doughty is a freak of nature. Such a pleasure watching this kid 82 times a year.

Mike Greene?

Green I would put after Bouwmeester, he would just as much of a defensive liability that Pronger and Niedermayer have been, but would provide more on the offensive side of the puck. So he might have been a better choice.

Watched the game last night at my parents' house, no laptop with me but sweet Jesus that was awesome. I would have Ryan Miller's babies. Everyone's saying Canada is playing nervous, and it shows, the one guy I noticed really going full steam was Rick Nash. But Team USA just seemed to have more energy up and down their lineup, Kane, Backes, Drury, Kesler, everyone. Would like to see more chances from the Stastny/Devils line but they're skating hard too. Hope we get a rematch with the frogs and kick ass again.

And yes, Mike Green is being missed on Team Canada. I doubt they'd have as many problems in the neutral zone if he was running the show.

Also loving Ovie's hit on Jagr, delicious.
