I saw a story on the news last night that tickets to the hockey are being scalped for as high as $60,000 for a pair.

Even with my student loan debt, I'd be hard pressed to sell if I had a pair of those tickets.

I live in an apartment building overlooking a main street in Halifax, which is usually full of traffic even on Sunday afternoons. It's nearly empty. Everyone is home watching the hockey.

You'd think, given we're almost as far away from Vancouver as one can get and still be in Canada. But the last two weeks all I hear are discussions all over the place about Olympics, 9/10ths of those about the hockey. I wouldn't want to be in downtown Halifax if they win or lose tonight.

This is Sidney Crosby's hometown. It nearly shut down for Pittsburgh winning the Stanley Cup. The pandemonium for an Olympic gold will be insane.
