That was the reason why Women's ski jumping wasn't included in the Olympics this year. The Canada women took them to court but the IOC said there wasn't enough countries competing to make it viable. The Judge ended up stating he had no authority to impose on the IOC as it is an international organization or some shit.

I still find the most humourous (and therefore bullshit) source of trade hype is that Eklund guy on Hockeybuzz. I swear he just wakes up, throws names in one hat, teams in another, blindfolds a monkey to make the draw, then reports that he has "inside info" on *player* going to *team*
His ranking system is what gets to me.
It would be like me saying:
"A source close to the Habs told me that the Canadiens are interested in trading for Ovechkin/Semin/Backstrom. Talks are heating up. Stay tuned. R6"
With the higher the number, the more likely it is.

Torres isn't that great of a player though. Decent season in Columbus, but I wouldn't make a move for him. As was mentioned, Umberger or Vermette would be better acquisitions from that team, since obviously you're not gonna get them to part with Nash.

Here's the thing, Umberger and Vermette aren't for sale. Torres has been a clutch player for us and he was that way before he got injured in Edmonton. He's not a top 6 forward, but he's a SOLID 3rd liner that a lot of teams would love to have. The players for sale on Columbus are Modin, Torres, and Jurchina, at least that's what's assumed, I guess others could go, but those are the 3 most obvious.

Heard this, went "Fuck yeah!" Amazing trade. Leopold already looked 100x better than Skoula, and after playing for 2 weeks against the best in the world, Orpik looked like a king among men today vs the lolSabres. He played like the final 2 minutes outright and absolutely CRUSHED a couple people around the net during that mad scramble.

Also, Izzy sucks.

Trade Deadline day! I'm always excited for this day but for some reason it's lost some luster this year, probably because I feel that most of the blockbuster deals are already done. Probably going to be a slow trade day.

Jurchina didn't play last night for Columbus, he didn't even have his equipment in his locker. The "official" word is that he's injured, but when he was asked about it, he backpedaled like a mofo after saying he felt great after the Olympics. Odds of him getting traded today are probably close to 100%.

Emery's career could possibly be over. he's having surgery on the hip and the success rate is 95%, but that is only for a life of mobility, not the wear and tear that professional athletes go through. kinda feel bad for him. only 27 and he had a pretty good year when he was healthy
