Well, hopefully they play bad on Thursday :D
Man that was a weak ass goal lol
Fucking ugh, terrible turnover by Sopel
Too bad nobody watched the game because Ovechkin was out!
BUT OVECHKIN IS THAT ENTIRE TEAM HOW DID THEY SCORE FOUR GOALS I DON'T EVEN!
I'm really concerned that since the Olympic break, Chicago just can't hold on to leads, or as Cal said, they start strong and then die out in the 2nd or 3rd and then have to play catch up. Two games in a row that we shoulda won but blew it. Their defense needs to start playing better, that's the first problem, we just can't shut down anyone like we normally do.
Oh hey, another afternoon game, another bad start for the Kings.
I really wonder why they play afternoon games when there is nothing going on at Staples center at night.
Nothing like watching that comeback from the treadmill in the gym, and not being able to scream and yell because I was the only dude in there lol. Double bonus because I was able to watch the end of the Kentucky/Miss St game on the TV right next to the Caps.
I'm stoked we came back, but Caps fans are getting a little sick of the "hey, let's only play hard for 1 period routine." That's the shit that gets us rolled in the playoffs.
The club actually plays pretty well without OV in the lineup, although I can't remember the stats at the moment. Almost as if the rest of the team tries to step up.
And I'm not defending OV's play in the slightest. Was certainly a penalty, was probably a double minor, and was just a dumb fucking play overall. But with the exception of Sepukku, most of us have been watching hockey for a long time. Given all the gnarly shit you've seen over the years, does OV's hit rank up there with what used to constitute a game misconduct? That's all I'm saying. Call penalties, send people to the box, and give the players a bit more leeway to enforce the game on the ice. But the knee jerk misconducts and suspensions are tiresome.
All valid points but they still don't excuse you for siding with Mike "douchenozzle" Milbury.
As for your comment that the players should enforce the game more themselves, I agree. I think right there should have been a chance of a Chicago player to try and fight Ovechkin. I still think the enforcer rule is fucking dumb as hell.
it's a sad day when i'm left to defend milbury. but i promise, i think he's an idiot 99.99% of the time. but what's that saying about even a stopped clock is right twice a day? lol
tough breaks for chicago though today. caps had no business winning that game. although backstrom's goal is definitely going in the hockey sex fantasies i pretend not to have.
Refs are such jokes. Call off a Kings goal for goalie interference but then allow a Preds goal on the other end when Quick was clearly interfered with.
Never understand why refs cant be consistant.
Wow Steve Downie might be gone from the NHL for some good length of time. He just put the most brbaric sleufoot Ive ever seen on Crosby. Very first shift, he came up behind Crosbys back and snaked his leg around Crosby's leg and then intentionally just dropped down on it, it looked like he ripped Sid's knee in two, Crosby looked like he was in a lot of pain and missed about 5 minutes but is somehow back out there, but a BLATANT intent to injure on the replay, refs totally missed it cause it was away from the puck. Given it was Crosby, given it was the first shift of the game and blatantly intentional and probably even pre-meditated, and given Downie's record, I wouldnt be suprised to see 10+ games.

If Downie gets reviewed he's gonna get a healthy suspension, looked like he was trying to mess Crosby up good. Given Crosby's profile in the league they won't let Downie off easy. Especially since Cooke didn't get anything and a lot of people thought he should have.

Milbury and Mcguire have to be the worst duo in sports television history
