In other news the top scorer of the Elitserien is looking to come to the NHL as a free agent and says he likes Detroit as his #1 option because of their style of play. Woo free players (if the Wings get him). Downside is that he is a fucking midget, 5'7".

Cooke-Thornton was a mediocre fight. About 5 punches aside, 12 seconds, then they fell down, Thornton kept punching after the fight ended.

Interesting fact I did not know: Matt Cooke fought Steve Moore earlier in his infamous game in an attempt to get retribution, before Todd Bertuzzi took it to a new level later in the game.

Yeah they've hung in this game, and Peters has looked good in net. Caps have been on the doorstep a couple times and come up empty, Knuble looks especially snake-bit. I guess I couldn't expect him to keep up his pace from before the Olympic break but as long as he's healthy for the playoffs that's all I care about.
