Yeah, after a fantastic week last week my entire fantasy team decided to do nothing this week except Zetterberg, who has 5 points in the last 2 games. Oh well, a decent run and a chance at 3rd.

edit: Also Penguins will be retiring the powder blue 3rds after this season, thank god. Those things are atrocious.

Jesus, we have a slim chance to make it now. Detroit, I really doubt we'll catch em, not with them healthy and playing as good as they are. They may even jump up to 6th place at this pace. Nashville, eh, slim maybe, Los Angeles, again a slim maybe. At this point our best chance is Colorado. If they lose a few games and we win a couple games, and most especially, win the game against them then I think we still have a chance.

But fuck, some of our next opponents; Washington, Chicago, Vancouver, San Jose. If we can beat those guys, then great, we deserve to be in the playoffs. But if we can't beat them, then I don't think it even matters if we make it or not, those are the teams we're going to have to face in the playoffs anyway =/

Wow it's kind of scary that going into the playoffs Phoenix seems to have the best goaltending in the west. Chicago and Vancouver fans should be a little bit concerned right now.

Jimmy Howard would like a word with you. Sort of, I know Bryz is more proven than him, but Howard is putting up fantastic numbers this year, the best of any West goalie actually (arguable with Kiprusoff)...

Anticipating Howard collapsing in the playoffs though, just gotta hope Osgood has his playoff magic still working.

Flyers are screwed for this season. I read they might try and extend Leighton in the offseason, but with so many goaltenders coming available, they'd be dumb to not sign one of them instead.

Goaltenders that are probably going to be available in free agency are : Marty Turco, Evgeni Nabokov, Jose Theodore, Dan Ellis, Chris Mason and Vesa Toskala. Not to mention you could probably convince Montreal to give up Carey Price around draft time.

Huet still has 2 years left right? He's pretty much immovable I would think without eating a significant amount of money and cap space that Chicago doesn't have. And I highly doubt that they want to pay him 5.6mil to play in the minors lol.

Actually, looking at nhlnumbers.com, Chicago is in deep shit next year with its goaltending unless they have someone in the system that can step up, Niemi is a RFA on July 1st and they have NO money to sign him.

And the Blackhawks would not be responsible for the rest of his salary therefore freeing up cap space for a real goalie. If anyone in Chicago is paying attention, get the movie Celtic Pride for some ideas.

Montreal is banking as Carey Price as the future, they wont move him unless something grave happens: Montreal goes deep into the playoffs, Halak carries them the entire way. Halak wont resign to montreal unless he's given #1, and Montreal wont give up on Carey Price unless its their only move.

Chicago should attempt some deal for Halak in the offseason.

It was my theory that this is why Brian Campbell's play picked up considerably after the first third of the season, I figured Quenville held him after one of the games and let him know that if something were to 'happen' to him they could use the cap space.

idk.. Halak has played better than Price has this year, I don't think he's ever going to be as good as Montreal wants him to be.
