Rumors that next year Winter Classic would be Washington vs Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh
Old news >_> I reported that rumor here back pre-Olympics in January / early February.
Good news is it's tied 1-1 after the first period. Bad news is Columbus still scored both of the two first period goals, again.
5-5 Tie palin, you win by tiebreaker.
I actually went into Yahoo rules and its not like ESPN's (Goals is first tiebreaker there), and first tiebreaker is "Record against opponent during the season" and I was thinking "OMG, GLIMMER OF HOPE!" but when I checked, you won the series 10-9. (8-3 win in week 1 over me, 6-2 loss later to me) Good fucking game lol I even checked the stats of the week I lost, and guess what stat I was almost won but just fell short on then? You guessed it! Power play points lol FML
So it will be Red Wings fan vs Penguins fan for the 3rd place game? Awesome.
Great matchup Sep. Was really close, couldn't imagine it another way. I about choked when I saw that SHP on the matchup screen.
Hawks continued to look like absolute ass tonight, idk what they even need to do to stop this skid before the playoffs, it's definitely not Niemi though. When you outshoot someone by 20-25 and score 2 less goals something else needs to be fixed.
My mind baffles me at just how bad of a rut the Hawks are in. We were fighting it out for the top seed, which we still are but are seeing it slip away, and if we don't watch ourselves we're gonna end up third since Vancouver is only 5 (as of earlier) behind us. Hell, San Jose may even tank before the playoffs since the Coyotes are hot on their trails for the division.
I haven't really paid a lot of attention, but are any of the other teams who sent the largest amount of players to the Olympics struggling as well? I didn't think it'd be any kind of issue but both Chicago and San Jose just look really fucking tired and lethargic since the break, wondering if it has anything to do with that.
Kings sent 5 and we havent been playing well either.
while the Pens probably outplayed the flyers Saturday, and probably would have won either way, the refs really fucked the flyers over. taking away the momentum like that, and Pit scores right after that. THEN Cooke holding Parents stick, taking out of his hand, and play continues on and he scores. give me a break. brag about the season series but the Pens had 8 men on the ice all game.
and for the Fleury pic - all i can think of is last year playoffs, when Biron had the puck covered in his front of him, and crosby pushing him into the net with his stick, resulting in a goal.
losing another season series to Pit is nothing new, so there's no use getting fussy over it. but if/when the flyers win a cup, ill sleep better knowing we didn't need the benefit of having "marquee" players have calls go their way to get it
and holy shit at the FHL. no idea the tiebreaker was the regular season matchup. GiveitoGaborik should have rocked me
they may be protected, but incidental contact when a goalie is outside the crease, and a goal is scored, it is allowed. when a goalie is in his crease, and incidental contact occurs results in no goal saying the goalie must have a chance to make a saveOriginally Posted by Sepukku
Where is your basis for this? You're just making up what you believe the rules are. Even if that is the case, it wasn't incidental contact, it was pre-meditated intentional contact. The Flyers strategy all season has been to run into Fleury, and you expect the refs to believe it was an accident?
Do you not admit that the Flyers have displayed a strategy all season of taking it to Fleury and running him over both during regular play / shootouts?
http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26557 - look at 2. B
and this is where you say it was "pre-meditated intentional"B. An attacking player makes incidental contact with the goalkeeper at the time a goal is scored.
Goal is allowed.
and i say lol @ describing Ville Leino that way
there's my fucking basis for it - yes, the way i believe it to be is actually the way it is.
you, however, are wrong
He was skill on the Red Wings. Once you're on the Flyers skill is out the door. They'd make Pavel Bure into a goon. And its been way more than Hartnell, fucking Richards has ran Fleury a couple times. And then Leino ran him. I'm sure theres other perpetrators but Im too busy working on my paper to scour youtube/the game highlights/boxscores.
Goalies are protected to an extent. If you're out of the crease, dont expect freedom of movement.
