HUGE Hawks win out in New Jersey, with the win we eliminate Nashville from any shot at the division and all we need is one win and Detroit loss too I think, and the Wings won't be able to catch us either.

lolAvs, are now tied with a game in hand and hold the tiebreaker on the Flames, but they are 1-6-1 in the last 7. Epic choke job if they don't make the playoffs.

Thats definitely suspension worthy. Its a deliberate elbow to the head. While it wasn't maliciously evil (having his arm out in front of him, pretty loosely slacked it looked like, isn't the same as having it braced firm and crushing someone in the head from behind along the boards), its by rule a suspension cause its still an elbow to the head.

Fucking Johan Hedberg piece of shit on fire stopping everything and the kitchen sink. Its like 25-5 shots in favor of the Penguins, but Pens are down 1-0 by a brilliany Afiniganov-Bergfors give-and-go. Pens finally got a legitimate Power Play (our first non-automatic) since the first was from a high stick, and even then, 2 of the 4 minutes of that power play were negated by a bullshit call on Chelios where we grabbed Guerin's stick and threw his arms up in the air causing Guerin's stick to go in the air along with Chelios's arms and Chelios fell down backwards diving for a call. Veteran move but hes still a piece of shit. Also, fucking Hedberg has been caught twice on freeze frame playing the puck in the no play zone, one of which wasn't even close, a good FOOT into the zone and once he dislodged the net suspiciously on an amazing Pens oppurtunity.

Fuck yeah though 1-1 now.

I've hated watching the trap for years when they would put Devils games on tv, or the Hawks played them. I hated watching it last night, it's just so boring, puts people to sleep. Last night's game at least went by quickly even with the trap being used, because there was 0 penalties called but still, it's horseshit to watch because it's not how hockey should be played.

I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THAT FECES THROWING TURD CANNON TEAM SIX TIMES A SEASON, HOW DO YOU THINK I FEEL?!?!?! Fucking Jacques Lemaire should be kicked out of the Hall of Fame for "Crimes Against Hockeymanity." Its absolute garbage and no one anywhere ever enjoys it. If the Devils make the SCF Sportscenter ain't going to show one damn second of it.

He's really not that amazing outside of his win totals. Brodeur benefits from the system as much as the team benefits from Brodeur.

I would compare it to the goaltending situation of Minnesoda when they went on their conference run. Same system, Backstrom(sp?) and Fernandez were solid goalies but couldn't go the distance maybe their D was a little weaker because of Stevens but still Brodeur is special most Fr Canadians between the pipes are.

I couldn't agree more. I mean he used to be amazing when he was younger but he's lost a lot of that wow factor with age. I think a lot of people saw how he's no longer the Brodeur of the past by watching the Olympics, without the trap in place and teams actually being able to get to him, he looked pretty average. Which is why he got benched for Luongo.

On a related note, Brian Boucher is also pretty terrible. He plays really small in net and doesn't cut down the angles at all. Really speaks as to how good Leighton's been in keeping Philly alive for so long. With Leighton, Howard, Rask and Niemi (and Varly when healthy) playing well this year, there seems to be a lot of really good young goalies out there.
