Regular season doesn't really count toward "the biggest stage" like that other guy who has never posted in here before said. Leading the points in playoffs would be good, except that he disappeared in the Finals. Had he not done that I would be less inclined to argue. Yes Talbot had a clutch game 7, and will probably be the only thing he is remembered for outside of "superstar treatment."

god stfu crosby isnt clutch. He has 6 shootout winners? Realllly? According to NHL.com, its 4, but what do they know, its only their league? He's 8/10 in the shootout, which means he has an 80% success rate in an overglorified skills competition. Too bad this skills competition doesnt carry over to the playoffs

Crosby isn't bad, he's obviously above average. But my favorite young, gun Canadian has to be Toews. The guy was a monster during the Olympics, may not have as high numbers as Crosby but he's definitely more consistent. Also a very young captain for a franchise that was on the ropes then revitalized it.

Rick Nash imo is pretty fucking boss too imo. If he had half the supporting cast Crosby and Ovie have, Nash's numbers would be much higher.

Rick Nash is a boss for sure. I just wish Columbus wasn't a Western Conference team, I enjoy watching him play. I've considered driving to Columbus for a game a few times, never committed to it though.

Yeah, I couldn't believe Babcock put in Crosby instead of letting Nash take it. Crosby was pretty low key for the entire tournament, even with the best overall shoot out record, it was a pretty dumb move on his part. Nash is a beast in shoot outs himself.

I guess the players on this list just sucked then, right? Because hockey is really like basketball, where you need one star player to carry the team, it has nothing to do with the other 21 players out there, your brilliance and crosby cocksuckerism shines again sep.

Then again, you've probably only followed hockey for 3 years, and thus dont even know who any players on that list are.

TB firing Tocchet is kind of a dumb move, their GM definitely needed to go but the only thing that could really be held against Tocchet would be his issues with Lecavalier. If they had a blue line that consisted of more than Hedman they'd be a playoff team, that's not really a coaching issue.

Yeah, but it's easier to turf 1 or 2 coaching staff, than it is to get rid of half a dozen shitty players. It's why I'll sometimes feel bad for a coach. Like Pat Quinn is a helluva coach, but people expected him to come to Edmonton and play saviour and turn the team around.

One standout player can't make a team, Callisto is right.
Atlanta - Kovalchuk (Traded, I know.)
Minnesota - Gaborik (But can also be used for NYR now as well.)
Columbus - Nash
Calgary - Iginla (Kipprusoft can be an arguement here when he's on a hot streak I guess.)

You need more than 1 player, or even one line to be effective.
It's why Vancouver struggled when all they had was the Sedin line. At least now they're getting extra scoring elsewhere. (Kesler, Burrows etc)
It's why Ottawa will always suck trying to be a Spezza/Alfredsson/_____ line team.
