Let me clarify a little bit about my prior Ovechkin comment. Ovie leads by his play on the ice. I do not believe that he leads in the locker room or on the bench just yet. I have no doubt that he will in the future be the Capitals captain. But right now they don't need him to step into that role just yet. They slapped the A on him as almost an afterthought. I don't think the Caps want to burden him with all the crap that goes along with being a captain. Not yet. For now they are content with letting him be a kid who has a blast playing the game. The Caps have a ton of older, experienced players(Nylander for example) who are able to fill the role while he grows into it. I'm not a big fan of teams slapping the big C on a young kid's sweater. I didn't like it when they did it to Crosby. I didn't like it when they did it to Toews. Let these kids grow up and mature while older veteran players fill that role.

I'm still undecided on how the Caps have assigned their "C" and "A"s for the past couple years. Clark's been here a while, but only played 50 games the past two seasons due to injury. He's a great guy to have in the locker room, but you also need that guy to be on the ice. I wouldn't mind having Ovechkin get the "A" to sort of coach up the Russian players, but it's really only Ovie, Semin and Varlamov. Laich's a guy I could see wearing the "C" soon, and even though he'll only be here for a couple years, I really like the interviews I've seen with Knuble so I'm glad he got an "A". I dunno, I would like to see more natural leaders in the locker room. Where have you gone, Dale Hunter?

They looked flat tonight. Just out of sync the whole game.

It was nice to see them try to muster up a decent 2nd period, and tie it up. But made it suck that much more to see the game be decided by a weak goal Lundqvist should have had. He seemed to be battling the puck the whole night, he seemed pretty shaky
