The Bluejackets are all up in arms over the hit Rob Suderi put on Jason Chimera during the Kings win. I watched the hit a couple of times. Scuds has never once been called a dirty player. He's a hard working blue line scrub who busts his ass every single shift. Then look at who is complaining. One of the more infamous headhunters in the league. Chimera needs to shut his mouth and keep playing the game. God forbid a defenseman didn't wilt under his amazing offensive prowess, to the point where they just let him skate by. It was a clean hit. As was the hit on David Booth.

The hit on Booth was just low class. I think Mike Richards is a phenomenal player. But that was just dirty. He knew Booth didn't see him coming. He could have eased up on the hit to spare the guy a potentially serious injury. He didn't. He sent Booth to the emergency room. Looks like Pronger is already rubbing off lol.

He was blindsided. He wasn't watching the puck at his feet. While it was a clean hit, it was still dirty. I could see if he was puckhandling and was looking at his feet. But he wasn't. I don't think Richards deserved a suspension because by the text book definition it was a clean hit. I just don't agree with Richards decision to go into Booth at full bore.

Definitely a clean hit, as you said. However, he definitely leaned into it trying to cream Booth. It almost looks like he was trying to give a shoulder straight to Booth's head.

ive watched Richards for the past 4 years and he isn't a dirty player. no doubt it looks dirty, but it wasnt. that hit happens at least once every 1-2 games. its because he ended up on a stretcher that it looks dirty. he did catch his head, but he wasnt aiming for it. he was going to check his shoulder, but booth turned his head into his shoulder. it happened right in front of me. it was pretty fucked up seeing him lose consciousness on the way down and there was a loud ass pop when he hit the ice. it was pretty disturbing to see it happen

I agree, Richards is not a dirty player. I can't remember was it him or Carter that ran head first into Fleury to try to get a goal, then faked being hurt so no Penguins players would jack him up like the little bitch he is?

Sorry I channeled my inner Sepukku for that one. I will say that this season Richards is as of so far, been involved in a few more shady incidents than he has in the past. It was a clean hit, but it was still a pretty dirty shot to take at someone. Flyers love aside, it is what it is. I would not be surprised to see a Panthers player return the favor.

Richards is so too a dirty player Abraxas, not only was this hit shady, his plowing into Fleury as the game ended shady, but he also gave a guy a concussion before with this same exact backtracking, obviously premeditating 3-4 seconds ahead of time stalking him from behind up the ice lining it up BULLSHIT.

PROOF. He clearly has that poor guy lined up from about the time they both crossed the blueline and Richards starts skating parallel to the blueline at him and its pretty clear that guy had no chance and never saw it coming.
