I second this. I'm sorry Virtue but we will now be shunning you for a period of no less than two years. You just mentioned thinking about watching basketball while there is a hockey game on? This is a serious transgression.
That was a ridiculously low hip-check by Scuderi, I wouldn't be too surprised to see it called tripping in some cases. Richards hit I thought was pretty dirty, he could have easily landed that check to hit body instead of hitting Booth in the head.
The one thing that I hate is the instant a big hit happens, clean or not, someone will start a fight and stop the play. A key example being the hit on Kane a few nights ago, one of the Canucks got a 1 on 0 from that and it was whistled dead during that 1 on 0. It should be more like the goal getting moved, if it doesn't disrupt play and it was done by the team without possession play can continue.
Gaborik is playing fuckin amazing right now.
Anddddddddddddd he takes a shot off his foot. Yay. At least he walked to the locker room on his own power.
Also, Kovalchuk out for 4-6 weeks
NHL buys Coyotes, etc.
What happened to Kovalchuk?
Season done for Thrashers?
Chicago beats Minnesota, Martin Havlat does nothing. Is there nothing in Minnesota for him to work with or something? I don't get it.
Havlat also isn't the most dynamic of players. He's good, but he's not elite
He was surrounded with world class talent in Ottawa, and some pretty good guys in Chicago. Maybe he's being exposed a bit in Minnesota?
And -- WTF Toronto finally wins a game...against Anaheim, that's a W I should have had!
Havlat is a great player. The problem is that he isn't a star caliber player. He's not one of those guys that will produce without someone helping him. In Ottawa he had Alfredsson and Yashin. In Chicago he had Toews and Kane. In Minnesota the only real offensive threat is Mikko Koivu. The Wild are relying on him to be point per game player but without the complimentary support, Havlat isn't going to do that. I see him ending up with no more than 25 goals and maybe 30 or 40 assists. Until Minnesota gets another bonafide scorer Havlat just isn't going to produce like he did in the past. He's the focal point for every team that plays against them right now because he's one of Minnesota's only weapons.
"The piece" got fined for that hip check on Chimera
and Richards got nothing
lol
Star players, preferential treatment etc.
The NHL is obviously biased.
Gaborik got hurt, doesn't look serious, but hes already starting to show come cracks...
Also, NHL now has its own official Facebook fan page.
Also, Crosby is going to participate in the Olympic Torch Relay. I don't see AO or Marian Gaborik doing that...
Youse be trolling. Couldn't have anything to do with Crosby being Canadian, nope it's because he's the greatest leader in the history of sports.
Anyways Toronto finally wins a game and Anaheim has all kinds of penalty problems. Also Colton Orr really doesn't like linemen.

Haha if he did that in the NFL he would be suspended for a year. Wonder how many games he'll end up with? I also find it funny as hell that Orr was willing to keep a fight going considering how many times Godard beat the piss out of him when he was wearing Ranger blue. Last game they played against each other Orr ran for the hills when Godard was ready to drop the gloves. Skated right for the bench and didn't look back. And wtf at Parros? He used to be a much better fighter than that lol.
