I demand you change your avatar back to your original Poke avatar. See my argument as to why Abraxas is not allowed to change his avatar.
"You know I don't speak Spanish."
(Where's this argument?)
I'm paraphrasing of course. But the gist is that it will take me too long to learn new avatars so I won't know who is posting and as a result dismiss you as an outsider attempting to crack the inner circle of the learned hockey connoisseurs that populate this thread.
That and I fear change.
I'm pretty sure there are people in this thread's inner circle who will dispute that I am neither "learned" nor a "connoisseur" of hockey hahaha
Besides, I have the Mystery Mithra symbol with all my posts.
And besides, Stone Cold is awesome. The Condemned starring Stone Cold is the only Blu-Ray movie I've bought so far. I dont even have an HDTV so it looks just like my DVD copy, but I figure when I'm old enough to have a paycheck that can cover an HDTV, it'll be too hard to find on Blu-Ray.
Maybe I'll see if I can edit the poking Tonberry over the referee and have Stone Cold flipping off the Tonberry.
I'm listening....Maybe I'll see if I can edit the poking Tonberry over the referee and have Stone Cold flipping off the Tonberry.
Tonberry isn't saved on my laptop so it'll have to wait til this weekend when I can find it on my desktop/external HD - and hopefully I have it at all still, my old desktop died in March and I may have had this sig since even before then, I can't remember.
Gaborik is sitting again tonight! Game #2 out, saying "It doesn't feel good."
Columbus vs Pittsburgh.
So I'm pretty sure last night's game was one of the best so far this year - and easily the most exciting Pens game. Words cannot describe the emotions I felt during it - contemplation, suffering, loss, anger, ecstasy, joy, betrayal, celebration. From about Kunitz's goal & then the third period on, I could not sit still, I was too hyper and excited.
Kunitz and Crosby work their butts off for a SHG to get within 1. Pens give up a 3rd, go back down two.
3 Minutes remain.
Fedotenko puts home a rebound. 3-2, and suddenly you hear all the people in the arena changing into their Pens jerseys. Easily 5,000+ people there from Pittsburgh.
2 Minutes left, my hero, my favorite, Goligoski, WHAT A SHOT. I'll even go as far as saying he has probably the second or third best wrist shot in the game, behind AO and Kovalchuk. The shots hes been making lately have been incredible. For pete's sake, last game he LASERED a WRIST SHOT from all the way back at the blue line (literally, his back foot was on the Blue Line, so like 55 feet?) into the top corner.
WE'RE GOING TO OVERTIME.
Shootout eventually ensues.
Vermette misses.
Letang sucks.
Nash misses.
Crosby gets stopped. Mason shits the bed and lets it roll in after his save for a goal.
Brent Johnson stones some loser.
PENS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT A GAME!!

Yessss bots in the hockey thread.
Also the last place team in the West, the Wild, beat... the Penguins!? That must be really embarrassing for the Pens.
Embarrassing for the Pens = crickets chirping, tumbleweed rolls by in the hockey thread
Barring Ishido's post concerning the bot, no one here posted other than me & BrillCS (Another Pittsburgher) from 12:40 PM Friday til you posted here at 5:48 AM Sunday, so counting the additional daylight savings adjustment, thats 42 hours anyways, the large majority of which was pre-Wild-loss, so tumbleweed was already rolling.
I'm not going to feel bad about the loss. We clearly outplayed the Wild at both ends of the rink. We led in time of possession, shots, and scoring chances by large amounts. It happens, you can't win every game. The Rangers just lost to them too and the Capitals just lost to the Islanders, shit happens.
Beyond that, I'm especially happy with a split on our weekend games that was almost a 3 point performance or 4 point sweep, given that of the ~18 turnover players from our Stanley Cup roster on our starting roster, we're playing without 4 of them - 2 of them being all star caliber* (Gonchar*, Malkin*, Kennedy, Talbot). Kennedy is probably the most underrated loss, seeing as despite missing 3 games now, he's still tied for 2nd on the team in goals and 4th in shots - only 7 shots behind 2nd.
Lord Crosby leads the team in shots and goals by a considerable margin.. Hes playing a much different style this year, camping at the crease. Hes getting much more production this way, but its very obviously wearing on him, playing at such a physical location on the ice. He dropped the gloves last night, beat Marek Zidlicky's ASS. Zidlicky is not a fighter by nature, but neither is Crosby. Crosby stomped a mudhole and walked it dry, and before anyone wants to get on the Crosby is a poor sport train or cites that Malkin jumped Zetterberg, Zidlicky dropped the gloves first and it was a mutual, legitimate fight.
New NHL standings:
1. Buffalo (if they win their 12th, 13th, and 14th game, have 23 points)
2. Pittsburgh (22 points, 11 wins)
3. Colorado (22 points, 10 wins)
4. Washington (If they win their 14th game, 21 points)
5. Phoenix (If they win their 14th game, 20 points)
6. Everyone else - emphasis on Rangers and Phailadelphia - 19 points or less through 14 games.
Minnesota has consistently beaten the Penguins at Mellon Arena for a very long time. I think the last time the Pens beat them here in Pittsburgh was in 2001 or something. I couldn't even watch the game had to go to a Halloween party.

Spoiler: show
GO RANGERS!!!
Gaborik is expected to play this afternoon. Gotta beat the Bruins and get this thing back on track!!!
i'm happy that the habs won yesterday against leafs but i got like 8 pts in 1 game
gogo fantasy team!
Crosby's fight was a joke. He got in the first 2 hits and then immediately brought Zidlicky's jersey over his head.
Also Crosby was camping the net for a good part of the playoffs last year, I can't remember the exact stat but the average distance from the goal for all of his goals through the playoffs was something like 7-10 feet away. He's good at picking up trash in front of the net but it seems to me like a bit of a joke that people call him the best because of that.
Also with half the Wings on my roster yesterday they combined for about 7 shots, fail indeed. At least they won.
