Wait I thought the save of the century was Scuderi stuffing the Wings? There can't be two saves of the century. It's not plural!!!! I actually went to bed after the first period last night. I hate the west coast trips because all the games start late. It's great on the weekends if nothing is going on, but weeknights it just sucks since I have to be up so early.

On another note, the Penguins powerplay right now is completely broken. Anaheim is one of the worst penalty killing teams in the league. With how poorly the Pens looked it made the Ducks seem like they were number one in the league. The absence of Gonchar and Malkin are REALLY showing with the man advantage. Time to change it up imo. Throw out Kennedy and Staal to play the wings with Crosby.

I'm choosing to view this as 'glass half full.' It will be interesting to see how the team responds. And you're right that the schedule is soft for this experiment.

Terri-bad game for the Caps last night, it was exactly what I feared would happen when Ovie went down. People sleepwalking through shifts, looking around a lot, Semin had 3 goddamn minors, Green knocked in a goal by accident... just out of sync as a whole. NJ put the clamps down in the 2nd and by the time we woke up late in the 3rd we could only muster one goal. It also didn't help that we only had one power play to NJ's five, but that's what good defensive teams do to the Caps. Bright side was Varly looked great, he's the reason we were even in that game to begin with. Also we called up this kid Perreault from Hershey who busted his ass all night and looks like he could add some speed to the fourth line. But between this and the WS game I should have just gone to bed early.

Methinks the Caps have relied a bit too much on Alexander the Great. I saw a little bit of the game and it almost looked like the Caps were in a daze.

Yeah the Caps have issues. Can't fault a young team for getting used to the idea that Superman will bail them out, but they've taken it to the extreme. I didn't catch the entire game because I was watching the Wizards, but you could see it coming.

I thought the Locker hit the nail on the head in the pre-game though, when he said this is exactly what the team needs right now to get its shit together. It's early enough in the season where a few losses aren't going to kill you, and they have to work this out if they're ever going to go from good to great. It's a long season, still plenty of time to figure it out. Unbelievably irritating to watch, though. To top it off, the Wizards lost in the final minute to the Heat, too. I switched to whisky at about 9:15 and I'm regretting it this morning.
