Wow this has to be unprecedented. Jay Mckee is now hurt 2-4 weeks for the Penguins, meaning 5 of our 6 starting defenseman are out with an injury.


But who is the sole survivor? You guessed it....

Wilkes-Barre going to be hurting on depth for the next few weeks I'm thinking. Who else is even left to pull from? Jon D'Aversa is really the only guy left. Unless they're going to call up someone like Lane Caffaro or Chris Lee. Which I don't see happening. You can't even consider bringing up Alex Grant because of how young and inexperienced he is. Likewise with Bortuzzo and Strait. The Pens have some talented young players down in WBS. But none of them are ready to be reliable players yet. They just don't have the experience. And let's be honest, they're so young that they haven't even fully grown into their bodies yet. Let's hope the Pens are getting all of the injuries out of the way early lol >.>

Blackhawks say they're ready to sign extensions for Kane, Toews, and Keith.

I'm looking forward to them playing with 5 high paid guys and 17 league minimum salaries next season.

We're circumventing the system like we did with Hossa, cause that's how the Bowmans roll. Toews and Kane are reported to be getting 5 mil a year for 6 years, and Keith "an undisclosed but lesser amount than Toews/Kane" that winds down towards the end for 13 years. No confirmations yet, but that's what newspapers out here are stating.

Quintin Laing out 4-6 weeks with a broken jaw after blocking a shot with his face last night, and Alex Semin is out indefinitely with a wrist injury. Combine that with the time Mike Knuble and Boyd Gordon are gonna miss, and Hershey's forwards are gonna be pretty tapped out as well.

If Chicago manages to sign both Kane and Toews to 5 million a year, that's a fucking steal. Both of them could go elsewhere and easily make at least 6 million. Shit, the Rangers would happily pay them 8 million just to get them.
