Theo Fleury aura sa chance à Calgary - RDS.ca

Also for those of you that live in Vancouver, do you know if RDS is available there?

I migh move to lolsaskatoon for work and i wanna know if i can get RDS for my games
I believe you can get it on Digital Cable here in BC. I know for sure you can get it in Saskatchewan, but I'm not sure how Vancouver and Saskatoon are related though

Senators Deal Heatley to Sharks for Michalek, Cheechoo

Well thank god that's over. The change of scenery may help Cheechoo re-discover his scoring touch.

RDS is available on Telus TV in Vancouver.

Not surprised in the slightest about Fleury getting a shot in Calgary. He might even get a shot if he's willing to play for less than a million.

Edit: wow San Jose got a nice upgrade.

Simple If you pull up a map of Canada you will see that Saskatchewan is closer to Quebec then BC is.

So if BC gets RDS, usually saskatchewan will have good chance to have it too.

    REverse psychology!

Also who i am happy about SJ, heatly will stop annoying the habs, and SJ will still lose in first round

I thought the 3-way trade rumored earlier this week (Heatley to Sharks, Marleau to Kings, Stoll and Frolov to Senators) would've been much better for the Sharks. I think this will not improve their franchise much in the long run.

Michalek is a young player, with a long career still ahead of him and has spent all of his successful, blossoming career with the Sharks - and more specifically, Joe Pavelski. So not only do the sharks lose Michalek, they also potentially could have Pavelski take a step back - something equally devestating as he, too, has a good long career ahead of him with the Sharks. Not to mention - the Sharks also lost a 2nd round pick for this trade, something ever more critical as cheaper, young, developing talent becomes a neccesity when the cap stops growing for the new couple of years.

This is my 2009-2010 official NHL Season Preview, adjusted for recent signings like Tanguay, as well as the Heatley trade. In the coming week I will post my final rankings for Goalies, Defensemen, Left and Right Wings, and Centermen.

    2009-2010 NHL Preview:

    East:
    1. Boston - A second consecutive President's trophy.
    2. Washington - Their young team only gets better.
    3. Pittsburgh - The Penguins will manage to survive a difficult Atlantic division.
    4. Philadelphia - Philadelphia also continues to mature.
    5. New Jersey - A healthy Brodeur is good news for New Jersey.
    6. New York Rangers - The Rangers rest their hopes on Gaborik's health.
    7. Tampa Bay - A lot of changes helps the Lightning take a big step forward.
    8. Carolina - Carolina seizes the last playoff spot despite losing Babchuk.
    9. Buffalo - Buffalo takes no steps forward this offseason, so no gains this year.
    10. Montreal - Montreal spends another year examining its franchise's stability.
    11. Toronto - Toronto spends another year murking through, despite a new GM.
    12. Florida - Florida takes 2 steps back, losing Bouwmeester and Bolts improving.
    13. New York Islanders - The Isles take a step forward, playoffs loom in 2-3 years.
    14. Atlanta - Atlanta needs to resign Kovalchuk just to have hope for 2010-2011.
    15. Ottawa - This ship has sunk.

    Northeast
    1. Boston - Fernandez, potentially Kessel the only key losses this summer.
    2. Buffalo - This needs to be more than just the Vanek-show.
    3. Montreal - The roster is revamper, the results remain.
    4. Toronto - Toronto begins tinkering with Brian Burke's new vision for the team.
    5. Ottawa - A horrible summer follows a disastorous season.

    Atlantic
    1. Pittsburgh - Losing Hal Gill, getting Jay Mckee offsets losing Scuderi.
    2. Philadelphia - Philadelphia & Pittsburgh go toe-to-toe all season for the division.
    3. New Jersey - Jacques Lemaire and a healthy Brodeur survive a potent Atlantic.
    4. New York Rangers - They have signed Gaborik, but it isnt enough in this division.
    5. New York Islanders - Arena and goalie questions need answered.

    Southeast
    1. Washington - No surprise here, another division crown.
    2. Tampa Bay - The Lightning make a big jump up the standings this year.
    3. Carolina - Carolina loses Babchuk, but still remain solid otherwise.
    4. Florida - Losing Bouwmeester hurts, 2008-2009 seems like a fluke.
    5. Atlanta - The Thrashes battle Ottawa, Colorado, Phoenix for the #1 pick.

    West
    1. San Jose - The Sharks made a big improvement to keep pace with the Hawks.
    2. Calgary - The Flames also came through big time with Bouwmeester, Jokinen.
    3. Chicago - Chicago struggles to meet their Preseason Stanley Cup crowning.
    4. Detroit - Regardless of age, departures, Babcock will produce a winning unit.
    5. Vancouver - The Canucks flourish as Luongo gets a new defensive core.
    6. Columbus - Columbus matures more and gets Nash & Mason some assistance.
    7. St. Louis - The Blues also mature, stay healthy, and sneak into the playoffs.
    8. Anaheim - The Ducks again sneak in, as well, in a weak bottom half of the West.
    9. Dallas - The Stars improve on their woeful 08-09 season but just miss out.
    10. Los Angeles - Another young team with playoff futures down the road.
    11. Minnesota - Minnesota loses one injured mess, only to sign another.
    12. Nashville - Nashville isn't a bad team, they're just in the strongest division.
    13. Edmonton - Edmonton misses out on Heatley, any hopes of success.
    14. Phoenix - Phoenix battles Ottawa in the damage control department.
    15. Colorado - Colorado's ship sunk a couple years ago, lays next to the Titanic.

    Central
    1. Chicago - A division crown won't come as easily as some have predicted.
    2. Detroit - Detroit, despite losing a couple players, still is very competitive.
    3. Columbus - If Mason stays solid, this team can roll with the big dogs.
    4. St. Louis - The Blues make their first playoff appearance in awhile.
    5. Nashville - In a division rivaling the Atlantic, the Predators struggle.

    Northwest
    1. Calgary - Making leaps and bounds, the Flames lock up the divison easily.
    2. Vancouver - The Canucks are the Flames only competition in the Northwest.
    3. Minnesota - Minnesota takes a step in the wrong direction.
    4. Edmonton - Edmonton treads water in the kiddy section.
    5. Colorado - Retiring Sakic's number will be the highlight of the season.

    Pacific
    1. San Jose - Gaining Heatley only adds more playoff pressure to the Sharks.
    2. Anaheim - Losing Pronger only makes things dicier for an already so-so team.
    3. Dallas - The Stars get Morrow back, but still miss the playoffs.
    4. Los Angeles - The Kings need a goalie before success will come.
    5. Phoenix - The team will struggle to go anywhere, except perhaps out of town.

Some nice break downs Sepukku. I like how San Jose and Anaheim would play each other in the first round again. <3

Also, anyone here interested in doing some kind of fantasy pool? Maybe not one with the whole bullshit drafting players thing. There is a pool up here I play in where you just pick players and their combined goals and assists add points to your total (Goalies get one point per win and 2 for a shutout).

Kinda random, but my cousin works for Telus here in Edmonton, and all they did was place a Telus sticker over the dish and receiver boxes of Bell ExpressVu and called it their own. All the channels etc will work out to the be same, only Telus will break down the packages a little bit differently.

As for the trade yesterday, Heater will have a good shot at 60+ goals with Joe.

I'm down for a BG Fantasy Hockey league, but I'd want it to be a real league, not some cheesy "add the points" thing. Take a guess at what my team name would be.

    No Beaton Mark Eaton!

Anyways, if we can get like 8 or 10 people as a minimum I'll gladly make the league for us. I prefer Yahoo leagues over ESPN (for all sports), and Yahoo is the Fantasy League the NHL/NHL.com is plugging anyways.

Its up for debate, but my prefered head-to-head scoring categories are:
G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, and SHoG* (Shots on Goal, not Shorthanded Goals)
    Wins, Shutouts, GAA, Save %

Standard depth too, 2 C, 2 RW, 2 LW, 4 D, 2 G, and X# of Bench players, a miscellaneous Forward or Utility position or two is also cool if you guys want some.

So we have any more takers?!?

Well Ratapata, a draft will be involved. You draft a team to fill your roster + bench, then you maintain your team, choosing which players/goalies you want to start each day. You can add/drop players from the Free Agency pool or make trades with other "GMs" for players you want.

In a head-to-head league there would be a new opponent every week for you (Monday through Sunday is each week) and your team's totals are added up for each of the stat categories in your league (In this league I'm proposing 11 stats, 7 skater stats and 4 goalie stats) and if after Sunday's final NHL game to end that weekly matchup you're winning any given stat category, its counted as a "win" in the standings, if you're tied, it counts as a tie, etc.

In the standings, each "win" is worth 2 points and each tie is worth 1 point. Obviously, losses are worth 0. There's 23 weeks in the "regular season" for fantasy, with 2-3 weeks of "playoffs" which are actually just the last several weeks of the regular season.

    EX: Week 1:

    Team Ratapata:
    15 Goals
    22 Assists
    +8 +/-
    37 PIM
    13 PPP
    0 SHP
    125 Shots on Goals
    1.98 GAA
    .932 Save %
    4 Goalie Wins
    1 Shutout

    Team Sepukku:
    12 Goals
    27 Assists
    +10 +/-
    24 PIM
    14 PPP
    0 SHP
    111 Shots on Goals
    2.32 GAA
    .912 Save %
    2 Goale Wins
    0 Shutouts

If those were the totals for a weekly matchup with me, you would have won Goals, PIM, Shots on Goal, GAA, Save %, Goalie Wins, and Shutouts. I would've won Assists, +/-, and PPP, and we would've tied in SHP (with Zero). Having a 7-3-1 record for that week would've gotten you 15 points in the standings (7 wins x 2 points = 14 points, 1 tie x 1 point = 1 point) and I would've gotten 7 points for my 3-7-1 record that week.

Also, updated roster to include you two.
