    Things we now know:
    Ovechkin picks his nose.

Ovechkin doesn't know the rules of hockey. If someone has their numbers to you and is facing the boards, you cant drive your shoulder into their back, sending them face first into the glass. Thats boarding, and its dangerous. It doesn't matter if you came with a slight angle and not straight into his numbers. I laugh when Ovechkin repeatedly says the guy "fell into the boards". He didn't fall into the boards. He was driven face-first into them, and thats why his head was bleeding. Sure, catching his face on the partition caused the actual gash, but I have a sneaking suspiscion that maybe (JUST MAYBE) his head wouldnt have hit that partition had AO not came over and rammed him into it.

Ovechkin may be suspended? That caption is ambiguous - does it mean "ejected" or is there a rule out there somewhere concerning meeting a quota of game misconducts = an automatic suspension? I know there is such a quota for instigator penalties.

    Nevermind ._.:
A league official told ESPN.com on Wednesday night that Ovechkin would not receive an automatic one-game suspension as a result of the ejection; but if the Caps star receives another ejection within the next 41 games, then the one-game suspension will be automatic.
(Guess he got a superstar waiver - and I'm sure an email was sent to all refs saying not to eject him the remainder of the season. Also, apparently this is not his first 5 minute boarding major w/ ejection incident.)

Yeah right like they would suspend one of their biggest star.

As for Habs game, to be honest i was impressed, habs had a 2 game in 2 days, most of our player came for AHL, and we only lost by 2 goals.

Fleury simply stole us a goal at 12min in 3rd period which could've changed stuff, but exept that this was a nice game.

I know - thats my point. They never suspend him because he is a star and its hypocritical.

Also, your team got raped. Stop trying to make a Taj Mahal out of mud. Our team has injuries too. You guys got owned and you're lucky you didn't get shutout. Pens - 2; Montreal - 0.

Also, my name is Sepukku, not Seppuku.

3-1 with 50% of our salary injured is better then 6-0

    That is my point

    and 3-1 is not rapped

The score doesn't reflect the amount of a domineering performance we had. We sometimes dominate with big time offense, we sometimes dominate just choking a team to death. The Pens have proven they can win any way they want. Playing defensive, playing from behind, scoring fests, tactically, any way they want / whatever the situation calls for.

Your team? They got choked to death. It wasn't as flashy as the last game, but you guys were one fortunate rush from being shutout.

    To reiterate:

    Pens - 2 games; Canadiens - 0.

I actually like what I'm seeing from some of our younger talent. I kind of knew we didn't stand a chance against the Pens last night, but I thought we played pretty good considering pretty much all of our 2 top lines is currently injured except for 3 players.

You know you're doing pretty bad in injuries when you're playing Metropolit as your #2 Center, he's stepped it up for us this year considering all these injuries, but theres no way he should be on the #2 line, at best he's a 3rd line guy, but mostly a 4th liner.

On the Ovenchicken suspension, I need to remind you guys that automatic suspensions are not automatic in the NHL. So he has nothing to worry about with another game misconduct.

Also not Rata's fault that you chose a name which is a form of suicide, but you misspelled it.

Yeah it must suck to root for a team that doesn't have anyone getting superstar treatment.

I'm not surprised at all, Hossa got a huge contract for a reason, he's got fantastic hands and plays intelligently. Kane and Toews both have great puck control as well, especially Kane, when he gets back into game shape that line is going to score a whole lot of goals. He looks pretty winded between shifts, like he was going to pass out during the intermission interview, but when he's actually on the ice he looks really sharp.
As good as Hossa is, he still seems to be lost in the shuffle every year. I think the one part of his game that absolutely kills him is the playoffs. He had a very good respectable run with the Penguins before they lost to the Wings. He wasn't dominating but he was at the very least contributing.

Last year against the Pens the fans got to him. They were in his head every single game here in Pittsburgh. A lot of the homers hated Hossa for going to Detroit because they had the "better" chance at winning. But I can't fault the guy for it. In the end it's about saying you were a champion. He took a paycut and a pathetic contract from Chicago due to his disappearance in the finals.

Before anyone says anything about his current contract, let's not forget the year before last he was getting eight million per year. Now after another lackluster playoffs he took what, almost a three million paycut? There is a reason for it.

The one saving grace for Blackhawks fans is this. Hossa historically does better when he isn't the star. With Toews and Kane on the same line I expect Hossa to put up some very good numbers. Now if he can do it in the playoffs this year is another question.

I've always liked Hossa as a player, he's a great player to have on a team - but yeah as you've stated, he buckles under pressure. But even with that fault, he's still a great player.

Well as long as he's not the offensive focal point, Hossa plays well. But the moment he is relied upon to put up great numbers he underachieves. He's done it his entire career.

Well, I was on the completely opposite side of the arena. I dunno why, but all the seating charts of the arena are assbackwards, both on the website and in the game-day booklets. I was sitting in the lower left corner, if you're watching on TV. Forgot the sign like a dumbass anyway.

If Chicago was smart, the contract would be for the regular season only. Then Mary-Ann could sit in the pressbox come playoff time.
Watching Crosby hoist the Cup was great last year, watching Hossa lose again in the finals was almost as sweet. Detroit hadn't seen a player turn that invisible come playoff time since their first go-round with ReTodd Bertuzzi.

I know it's not NHL-related per se, but I'm getting stoked as we get closer and closer to the Olympics, just to see how the various teams stack up.

as for now they keep saying that the 3 goalies would be

Brodeur - Luongo - Fleury but you never know some goalie can come up with a surprise
