Wow, the Penguins just took the Rangers to TOWN. Took them to The Point and drowned them in the Allegheny River. 8-3.

Free Hat night at the arena.

Crosby has 2 goals, midway through the 3rd.

Avery tries to rape Crosby, Crosby dodges it.

Cooke clocks Animisimov (whatever the communists name is).

Brashear rapes Cooke, takes a 4 minute penalty and likely a suspension for injuring the official throwing punches for a good 45 seconds after the linesman stepped in.

Crosby scores a hat trick on the first 1/2 of the 4 minute PP. Game stops for 8 minutes while ~5,000 hats are cleaned off the ice.

Pens score again on the 2nd half of the PP just for shits and giggles.

Avery mugs Fedotenko (Fedotenko is skating up ice and Avery grabs him from behind in a headlock and starts punching him with his free hand), and the Pens have a 7 minute power play to end the game.

....enter the chants.

"GO HOME RANGERS!!"

But wait..... its Fleury's 25th Birthday!! Guess what.

"HAP-PY BIRTH-DAY!" CHANT!!!

But wait... Rangers are a joke and the game is over (even though the clock is still running), so mid power play, the Penguins pass it all the way back down the ice during an offensive possession on the PP to Fleury at the peak of the Happy Birthday chant.

Star players/preferential treatment etc etc. Now if I recall correctly Sepukku was all up in arms when a certain Philadelphia Flyers player pulled the same exact hit that Cooke did on David Booth. But as I expected, you hear nothing about how it was a cheap shot etc. Why is that?

Rangers looked good the first period up until the last five minutes. They were able to claw their way back into it a little and then the wheels came off. I have always thought that Tortorella is a fucking asshole and after how he left Valiquette out to dry tonight, that just proves it even further. I don't care who is in net, if you let up eight goals in one game, pull the man out. Give him a mental breather. Torts just fucked that guy's psyche. Had it been Henrik he would have been out after goal number six.

Brashear was a fucking idiot. He knew from the moment he went after Cooke that he wasn't going to drop. Cooke is a lightweight. Brashear is a heavyweight. Where was Sean Avery then? Before he decided to jump Ruslan Fedotenko just for skating in front of him I mean.

Sad game for New York. Complete and total mental breakdown. What's worse is a coach who has essentially called it in for the last twenty minutes. Pathetic.

And for the record, I am not cheering Matt Cooke's hit. While he won't be suspended for it, it was his shoulder, not his elbow etc. But it was dirty and hits like that end careers. I said it about the Booth hit and I'm saying it here. Cooke deserved to have Brashear jump on him.

Should make for an extremely physical game on Monday. Barring Brashear and Avery don't get suspended for their idiotic moments.

Caps survive without half of their top forwards, and Eric Fehr's playing really well now. I thought he'd break out last year but it seemed like he started on Boudreau's shit list and was a healthy scratch a lot. But if he starts to deliver any kind of consistency, he's definitely the type of power forward we could use more of.

And the Kaleta suspension is a joke, as the Wheel of Justice turns...

Our normal 4th line is currently playing as the 2nd line and the 3rd and 4th lines are all AHL players (except for Lapierre).
And our 2nd line is playing as our 1st line (except Cammalleri which usually rotated between 1st and 2nd lines)

^ Fedotenko vs Avery incident. Apparently Avery claimed Fedotenko tried to slewfoot him. You can see very slight incidental contact right in front of Fleury about 4-5 seconds into the video, which is expected at that spot in the ice - its a crowded area. The contact is so light that Avery barely even moves, and he calls that an intentional slewfoot, mugs Fedotenko, likely resulting in a suspension, and gives the Pens a 7 minute power play.

I think I've stated in the last 2 or 3 pages that the Rangers suck dick. We're like the Penguins of the late 90's- early 00's, we aren't quite there yet. We have a few players to build around but, the rest of the team lags behind.


Also, I didn't watch the game either last night. I was disgusted though.


Also, you can be damn sure the Penguins wouldn't have scored 8 times if Lundqvist was playing last night, I don't know why the fuck Torterella insists on playing Valiquette against teams like the fucking Sharks and Penguins, he gave up 7 against the Sharks and 8 against the fucking Penguins, fucking send him to Hartford and bring up Miika Wiikman to be our backup.
