A little late to the party, but I actually agree with Abraxas 100% on the Carcillo v. Bradley argument. Looks cheap just because Carcillo didn't wait and dance in a circle with him for 30 seconds before the first punch was thrown. I have no doubt that maybe his intent really was to just blast Bradley before his gloves were off, but his gloves were off. Sorry Brill, but that hand of his wasn't close to Carcillo's head because of recoil. That's just silly.
Also, you bastard @ tickets tonight.
Congrats to brodeur for the shootout today
he is now tied up with sawchuck (sp) with 103.
1 more and brodeur is alone in first
lol Rata, Markov passed by the mall I work at, but I missed my chance to get a pic with him.Saw him leaving the mall, he's walking pretty good, slight limp. Habs gonna killllllllllllllllllllllll it when he's back.
Also, Bergeron needs to stop being a panzy and keep ripping those slap shots / one timers. I dont think he understands how good his shot is, because every time he rips one, they usually lead to good things.
WEll first period was strange, but Montreal got a 2nd win streak, and flyers lost a 9th lost in their last 10games or something like that.
All that while pittsburgh loosing against carolina
Agreed. Just another prime example of the NHL's even handed disciplinary measures. /sarcasm. I have to say I did not enjoy going to the game at all. The tickets we had were last minute from a friend of my wife. His seats are garbage. We were up in section F-30 on the balcony closest to the Stanley Cup banners. I do not deal well with heights. To add on top of that, there's only a foot high railing in front of you to keep from plummeting to a horrible death below. So I was clutching that railing as if my life depended on it. Though if I was going to fall I would aim for either Iceburgh or one of the Pens cheerleaders tits to cushion the fall. I'm sure my wife would understand.A 4 game suspension for jumping the gun is a joke.
oh Brill, we all know its just because the pens lost.
c'mon man!
I wish lol. Anything higher than level C is too high for me.
The UC is actually nice about stuff like that, they redid the 300 level, added a nice bar & grill, a cool little balcony perch thing with a nice view by said bar, a lot of big flat screens all around, and for some reason the angles of the arena make it so even if you're in the nosebleeds you generally still have a good view, I think the UC is just kind of small though(from what it looked like on TV Mellon Arena was fucking huge in comparison).
Mellon Arena is such a wonderful arena - although I do admit, those F seats do look pretty intimidating, but I'm in C/D 90% of the time and A/B/E the other 10%, never been in F.
Its a real shame people insisted on a new arena, cause Mellon had such a personality. Civic Arena - "The Igloo"! Perfect for hockey. Home of Sudden Death. Opening arena dome. It just won't feel right in the new arena I suspect.
I thought the same about Chicago Stadium > UC as a kid, but as much as I loved the Stadium, I can't honestly say I've ever had a bad experience at the United Center, and the last two seasons they've taken some pretty big strides to make it even more enjoyable.
Oh I will definitely be sad when the Igloo is done. Aside from the few obstructed view seats, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Even up in F the view was fantastic.
The best new stuff is that Levy's Restaraunts took over the concessions, they have some ridculous food now...there's a 1/3 lb burger that is topped with grilled onions and a butterflied polish sausage and spicy mustard on a pretzel roll...
Kind of a random request since I'm pretty crappy with A/V stuff:
If any of you guys are good at converting video to gifs, would you possibly be able to make me a gif of Ballard whacking Vokoun?
the Islanders are in town to play the flyguys tonight. brendan witt just got hit by a car downtown. lmao, philly will do anything to try to win
And don't forget the massive $10 ultimate nachos, with beef, melted cheese, shredded cheese, and if you want, peppers too. And the Iron Works Grill up in the 300 section with their delicious sandwhiches.
Worth mentioning the old vs new stadium case, the Chicago Stadium was a great place in my youth to go watch games, but it sucked because of how it was built, you had damn pole every 50 feet blocking your view. The UC got rid of that and really the only bad seat in the house is if you're in standing room only. And this year when they added the Madhouse bar, along with revamping the whole interior 300 section, it's so more enjoyable.
Losing the Civic Center will suck since it's all you guys know but I'm sure the new place is gonna be awesome too and in time you may come to embrace the new home of the Pens.
