I just started trying to re-learn how to skate and get back into sports shape myself for men's league in the summer, I hadn't skated in 18 years so it took a few weeks to teach myself how to stop again...so far the worst injury I've had hasn't been from falling or running into the boards due to not being able to stop(though I did both often), it was when I tried to do a superman penguin-slide on my chest across the ice for fun, and forgot my car keys were in my pants pocket.

Ah snap, where you gonna be playing mens league at? I have a team that plays out of Seven Bridges in Woodridge, and then a bunch of the same guys play in a second league in....I wanna say Oak Lawn? Right off Cicero Ave and 95th St.

AO has a better goals/game rate and Kovalchuk has an equal goals/game rate. Also, they don't rack it all up on the PP. 9/21 of Gaborik's goals are on the PP. Also, Gaborik has the worst +/- out of the 20+ G scorers (Crosby, Gaborik, AO). And you're not making the playoffs... or if you do you're exiting in the first round... so why not get a lot of young talent for admission of defeat? Also... Gaborik with Kopitar would be sick... just admit it.

Not that sick if with his current linemates youre only getting a goal/game from that line and no production from the rest of your team...

And my point was he seems to struggle off the PP unless the defense has a mental lapse. I remember during the home and home him trying to go past Orpik 20 different ways and Orpik would just keep his eyes on his jersey rather than the puck and Gaborik never managed anything around him.

Now Sidney Crosby... there's a guy who can score every way. Shootouts, even strength, on the penalty kill, power play along the boards, in front of the net.

The Rangers were 7-3-1 when Dubi got hurt I think, they were ok, they need alot of help, but him coming back is a jump.

I agree 100% with that. As for the game itself last night Hawks out played the rangers all game long and i'm really surprised the final score was 2-1 in overtime no less. Lundqvist is a machine and the reason why the rangers have so many close games. If the rangers could score they'd be a great team. Really though i'd give it til next season before they could really contend.

They averaged like 3.5GPG with him in the lineup. When I say he's their spark I meant it.

It's going to take a little longer than that. It's going to take until at least Drury and Roszival's contracts get off the books...that's about 12-13mil right there.

Also when the likes of Stepen, Werek, Kreider, Grachev..and others start playing, and rounding into being players. Those are some of the guys who look like can pan out to being legitimate top-6 guys, which is what we're clearly lacking right now.

By then, Callahan, Dubinsky, Staal, Gilroy, and Del Zotto will be legitimate veterans. Lunqvist and Gaborik will be in their primes.

In the big picture...I'm okay with this year being a rebuilding year, pending they don't make any stupid moves (aka trading away prospects/picks for vets aka quick fix). Will it be frustrating as all hell to go to games? Sure...but it's now crystal clear that what happened in the beginning of the season was a fluke. This team just doesn't have what it takes right now.

I'll take a solid effort, all I can really ask for anymore.
