It's not the release candidate, they stopped distribution of that awhile ago. This is the RTM (releast to manufacture) version, which is the full version minus some patches and drivers they are still making for final release. This will keep working forever.
I signed up the other day and they still haven't approved me. My login is working and everything but I get this under my services.
Am I doing it wrong?Developer AA – ACM/Developer Academic Alliance (formerly known as MSDN AA)
Free Software for ACM Student Members
ACM Student Membership Benefit
Thank you for your interest in the ACM/Developer AA Partnership Program. This program is an ACM Student Member Benefit only, available to current Student Members of ACM. If you've just joined ACM, you will have access to this feature once your payment is processed.
Does this work if I already graduated from college ? Can I make something up like getting another degree ect.
Signed up as well, waiting for approval.
Man this is awesome.
About the legal issues...You have to be a High School, Undergraduate or Graduate student and use this for academic purposes to be eligible for this program. You keep the licenses after you graduate.
They don't do any checks but non-students would technically be violating EULA....which is not really too different from torrenting it![]()
just a question but when signing up would it be safe to assume that actual name and address are ok? Or are you guys not using that?
Yeah, its ok. As far as I know they also send your membership card to your address.
edit: account confirmed in 2 hours...now waiting for payment to be processed.
Writing from my fresh Win7 Pro
I must say the installation process was quite painful lol. Seems it has problems with certain motherboards or something. I have a Gigabyte MB and I hate to switch the SATA controller (from orange to purple, since there are 2) to it install finally or else it would get stuck at the "Completing installation". I also heard that other people had to do things like uplug all USB devices or turning on AHCI in bios to get past that thing.
Their process take awhile for some reason. It take 24 hrs for my payment to go through and I paid it at 8am on a weekday.
did mine saturday at like 2 in the morning. still getting

This is annoying, I went to download the file for Windows 7 64, and the downloader file is an .exe so my Mac cant open the downloader file to even download the OS. What the shite, anyone know an ISO I should use or am I just dumb and doing something terribly wrong?
