Hello,
Welcome! Thank you for signing up as a participant in the Microsoft Developers Academic Alliance (MSDN AA); your eligibility is made possible through an ACM/MSDNAA partnership. FK YAH
i have vista basic and am gonna install win7 pro, obviously. it's not gonna delete anything off my HDD like my music and shit, right? i know i have to re-install all my programs and stuff (pain in the ass...), but it's gonna be worth it i guess?
it gives you the option to upgrade, but tbh i'd just do it for a fresh wipe.
Afaik you can only upgrade pro > pro.
I wanna go from RC to RTM with out having to back everything up ugh.
kinda hoping ultimate won't be RC forever on this thing. after thinking about it, i really don't want to reformat and all that jazz. i just did one a few months back and i'd hate to lose my tricked-out firefox again (taskbar fiend). and yea... backing up everything to externals is a pain in the ass.
will the ultimate ever be RTM?
Windows 7 editions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Looks like it.
The ultimate they off is just the RC odds are they wont be getting the RTM of it because theres not much point the differences between pro and ultimate are almost non and the few there are most ppl wont use.So just go with pro you will love it trust me.I just finished installing it on my main PC and so far I am loving it everything just feels faster.
i used to hate fresh installs for the same reason but i found that having multiple partitions or even better hard drivers can make fresh installs a little less of a pain
you can set your documents pics music folders stuff like that to be on another hard driver/partition.That's what I do so when I do a clean install i just need to reinstall my apps and point my folders to the right locations again
and what I've found to be an even better solution or at least I am hoping it will be is making a driver image so next time I want to do a clean install I just use the drive image and I am done.
I normally do clean installs once a month always found my PC's just generally feel faster after a clean install so its something for you to look into.
tho I've got 6 HD's in my main PC so putting all my different folders on different drivers isn't an issue
It's like you guys don't even realize you're paying to pirate software, for no reason other than the convenience of not having to 'find' a key.
Yeah, this is totally legit for students. In fact, Microsoft wants students to use it.
Every student(educated, higher income) using this system and getting familiar with their software is a good potential future customer.
Making their OS and software easily accessible for students, new computer buyers etc. is what really made them so popular.
It's like you don't realize this OS isn't even released yet and we're paying 19$ to get in on it way earlier than everyone else...
Unless you can find me a torrent and a key somewhere else, please do, because they do not exist at this time.
