Blackout was removed from the game.

For those of you that don't know, Blackout used to give shadow spells a 10% chance to stun our enemies for 3 seconds.

Instead we were given Psychic Horror, a 3 second stun on a 2 minute cooldown.

For those of you that don't know, in WoW you're basically casting a spell every 2 seconds

Howard, this is real talk.

There is ONE thing that a priest is good for. One thing and one thing only. It has been the pride of the priest class for the years that WoW has been out.

We have an ability called dispel magic that is instant cast and removes two magic buffs from our enemies or two magic debuffs from our allies. In WoW there is a 1.5 second Global Cooldown between using abilities. So we can remove 2 magic buffs or debuffs every 1.5 seconds.

It is a pretty important ability.

Shamans can cleanse diseases, poisons, and curses. They can also purge magic buffs off their enemies.

Druids can remove poisons and curses.

Paladins can remove poisons, diseases, and magic debuffs(note that they can only remove magic effects from their allies, they cannot purge from their enemies)

The paladin weakness lies in the fact that their cleansing ability targets one of their three types randomly and only removes one debuff at a time.

So what this means is, priests are the only class that can offensively AND defensively removes magic effects, AND we remove two at a time. Sound pretty good, right?

BLIZZARD RECENTLY ANNOUNCED THAT THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE EVERY HEALING CLASS THE ABILITY TO CLEANSE MAGIC, AND THEY AREN'T GOING TO GIVES PRIESTS ANYTHING TO COMPENSATE!

I mean even WHM got... k, I need time to psych myself up to saying this: okaaaaaaaaaaaay with SCH sub and a couple other things to the point that merit parties didn't mind taking a WHM if no RDMs were available



I know some classes get altered and whatnot but tell me some kind of selling feature for your class, why do you even play it?

Blizzard said they wanted to remove RNG from the game, so they nerfed every priest ability that was random but left every other class alone.

For instance, we used to have a talent that had a 50% chance to make our next heal free when we critically heal.

The removed that, but left in the druid talent Omen of Clarity.

"Omen of Clarity - Each of the Druid's damage, healing spells and auto attacks has a chance of causing the caster to enter a Clearcasting state. The Clearcasting state reduces the Mana, Rage or Energy cost of your next damage, healing spell or offensive ability by 100%."

So it's OP for us to have a 50% chance on a 20% chance to crit to get a free heal...

But it's not OP for a druid to get a free anything they want any time they do anything...

WoW's been out for.. 4 years? assuming it's never been overpowered this doesn't seem to fit the usual bad mmo company management of OP and nerfed class cycles
