If you are going to PoM a damage spell it should be Arcane Blast anyways. Whatev though, continue to act like you know what the fuck as usual.

Don't let him lie to you. Even if they brought the damage of barrage down its still gotta be close to that. Arch mage is like pvp only though. You're going to get your shit rocked in PVE. The down side is the cool downs to really rock someone's world. I think they had lowered it to like a 1:50 or some shit. I don't remember. Between cooldowns you're pretty much running with your tail between your legs. It was balanced before, I'm kind of pissed they nurfed it (If they did.)
I'd like to know what specifically they did without having to go look up patch notes.
Blast can hit for just as much if not more esp if have casted it twice allready, and it also gives you the chance to proc missles. 1vs1 yes, PoM dmg spell, but if you are fighting more than 1 person you should save your PoM for poly... instant poly is priceless. You already have Abarr and Fireblast for instant casts, Abarr crit is going to hit just as hard as your shitty Pyro. Personally I don't even touch fire talents when I go arcane, I preffer going into frost for frostbite, permafrost and shatter.
Arcane Barrage nerfed stealthily
Also seno I been playin a mage since evocate was a 21 point talent so neener neener neener. Be mad.
I think both are acceptable. I have not played since Wrath came out but when I did play I was rocking them rather hard. I had never run into a situation where I required insta-cast poly. Although I never did things like 2v2 and what not. I found that nearly instakilling one person and blinking out if I was in trouble (Or insta-cast invis) was far more effective than polying and slowfucking the other.
I could see your perspective on this but I hope you see mine as well. I think both strategies would work. Don't think I just burn PoM each time its up. Its your "oh shit" button but I found that poly (Specially with breaks and shit.) was far less effective.
Regarding that movie; I watched about 4 minutes before I got bored and all I seen him doing was archblasting and then missile. This is a good strategy I guess and I have used it in situations where there is more than just me (Battle fields) but I'm far more fond of casting slow, keeping out of range, and smashing my insta-cast spells. I would rotate archbarrage and fireblast and never let them get in range of me. I'd always be on the move and if I were lucky I'd get a crit fireblast with ignite and/or trigger the .5 second channeling spell (Forgot ze name.) which would pretty much rape any nigger who wanted to throw down.
His rotation is for maximum burst with his rogue partner. Don't forget those Blast charges increase the motherfuck out of your damage all the while chace to proc ze missles.
Yeah...
I missed all of it though, the buff and the nerf, so I don't feel too raped. I wasn't playing at the time.
You could keep out of range with that as well but you're spending outrageous amounts of mana to cast missiles just to be interrupted to blink out. If your partner can keep aggro off you, you're going to rock some faces.
Unless he is just casting blast til missiles trigger, I guess that would work too. Blast still has a pretty shit casting timer though (Like 2 seconds or some shit?)
Nothing takes 5 sec to cast bro. Only cast missles when the buff to make them half cast procs. Arcane is pretty shit in arenas except for comps like that... but 2v2 is dead now anyways I hear. I have a ton of fun with Arcane in BG's but I much prefer frost in just about every situation. Now that we have deep freeze you can pull off pet freeze > deep freeze shatter combos that are just insane and completely lock down your opponent.
Also the big thing is haste now, all top arena mages have between 400-700 haste, so those cast times come waaay down. I think his AB is about the same cast as a Fbolt/Fball.
I liked frost spec but when I was playing arc was the shit. If they nurfed it I don't really see a reason to stay Arc. I gotta say though, the most fun I had in BGs is when everyone was busy doing their own shit and was in a group and you just through a few blizzards out there and lock everyone in range down. It's a pretty shit strategy but I had a lot of fun doing it.
Shatter and all that jazz is pretty awesome too. Not to mention the water elemental was pretty good for "Oh shit" type moments, having a shit ton of binds was fun...
They've brought the cooldown on the pet way down and you can glyph it, I think you can have him out around 80% of the time now with the glyph. Also dunno if this was there when you were playing, but when your pets out, any time you cast fbolt it gives your whole raid replinishment buff, gives like 1% mana every 5 sec or something kinda crappy yet neat.
Yea, they had that when I was playing. I quit the patch after wrath came out. I dug frostmage for a few reasons. You can solo a good portion of an instance with that shit. Just little mobs and what not. Not to mention AOE grinding was pretty bitchin'. I don't want to reactivate until next month, but I had fun playing. I'm kind of pissed off what they did to arch mage though. I felt that was the only "balanced" buld for pvp. (In before krye raging) Although frost was "okay" it still required a decent amount of "stand while casting." despite having multiple binds it just didn't have the same feel as arch did. Iunno though...
