Currently we are experiencing difficulties where players are unable to login or logout from PlayOnline and its contents. The issue is currently being addressed, and new updates will follow as additional information becomes available.

This is what really happened:

<PlayOnline Coworker 1> I'm bored... All I do is sit on my ass all day

<PlayOnline Coworker 2> Uhhh ok.. Go get me something to drink then..
<PlayOnline Coworker 1> Fine, want a cof.. OMG SQUIRREL!! *runs off and trips over the wires disconnecting POL service*

Logged out inbetween turning in my Zeni plates, now I'm gonna end up getting 30 each instead of 70 each on my last 15 plates ; ;

PlayOnline Login Difficulties (Sep. 3): Follow-up

Regarding the previously reported issue where users cannot log in to or log out of PlayOnline or its contents, we are continuing our investigation and working to resolved the issue. However, it appears that it will take some time before a resolution is reached.

We will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Additionally, as a result of this issue, the following services are currently unavailable:
- Register or unsubscribe PlayOnline accounts
- Review, purchase, cancel, or reactivate Content IDs
- Review or update member information
- All registration code services
- Apply for the World Transfer Service
- Register Reward Codes
- Purchase Square Enix Security Tokens
- Purchase expansion pack registration codes

- PlayOnline Mail, Friend Messages, Group Messages, Messages from the GMs, and all other messaging systems on PlayOnline

- Log in to the FINAL FANTASY XI Linkshell Community Beta Version
- Log in to Friend List Plus
- Access to Register New Site and Owner Menu on the Community Sites section from the official PlayOnline web site
- Access PlayOnline Membership Information from the official PlayOnline web site
- Apply for the Character Reactivation Service

It just seems like the FFXI servers aren't communicating with the PoL servers the way they should be. The lobby server is obviously having issues with the FFXI servers(isn't displaying the correct zone/job level/etc). Probably explains why people show up as on the server for friends list when they aren't too.

Anyone else back in yet? Just logged in to my character no problem after making some coffee.

It's Dunkin' Donuts brand if anyone thinks the coffee did it.
