Just to clarify, for dynamis and shit, of course I don't use this build to idle, things die so fast anyway -enmity does NOTHING. Regen, -%dmg and Refresh ftw. I don't even bring Skill and magic accuracy build to dynamis, einherjar w/e. Speed build > all, Sheikh Gages, Manteel, Haidate etc..

Not disagreeing about lazy bards, just giving my view of what constitutes idling and therefore what I would want in and idle set.

If you don't stop casting/singing etc the you obviously have no need for such a set.

You still have to be "idle", as in not using JAs or spells, sometimes...you have to run, for example, possibly with mobs on you. In Salvage, you have to lot/pass. Standing around for 20 seconds doing nothing while others are fighting? Of course not. But in between my actions, I want to default to gear that will do something when I'm "not doing something", even if most of the time those intervals are very short. If you want it around for "oh shit" moments, then I think it's best to have it be equipped by default. Then if "oh shit" happens, you can just think about how to fix it.

I can see in a case like Einherjar, if you're being rotated between parties constantly, a set like this would rarely come on. It still would sometimes, though, and not every event is like that.

Honestly, a lot of the advice given in this thread is pretty accurate. For example, Bakthis' post pretty much summarizes the thinking for a BRD at 75.

What I'm trying to say is, a lot of this advice is constructive. There's some good stuff in there. You just need to look at it positively and not take offense. And ignore the trolling - that's just folks having fun/being grumpy because they didn't get coffee yet this morning/didn't get enough alcohol yesterday evening.

Yeah that's what I did since my last post. That day, I was just in a F5 mode, so I auto responded to this and like two other threads here. But do note that I was thanking the people really giving help. Eventually the kids got tired and went to bed, and some good info was shared, so I'm content.

Labor Day weekend was not used for forum typing purposes, so the guide is still as outdated and useless as when Wopadobanned(boy I sure wish I was you) and friends first said it was. But I will eventually get to it.

Getting banned or not has nothing to do with your useless and "situation" based lolbrd gear guide. I've achieved more than you ever will in your lifetime, and that I'm proud. Banned or not, I had a blast, as did a lot of other LM17 fellow.
A lot of us has contributed so much to FFXI community, pioneering in unautrodox strategies, etc...
Me and Minidragon has set the bar so high, that even 9 months down the road now, there are hardly anyone that could rival us.

Yeah. Pretty much people on Pande who claimed to "hate" Wopa were just completely jealous of everything he did, and had no valid ground on which to even dislike him in the first place. I agree, he did shit I still envy. He created a system that worked, and a lot of linkshells on Pandemonium are attempting to mimic, but will never master, or come close to what WopaCo did.

That being said, if a career bard is telling you you're doing it wrong... you're doing it wrong.
