The point was established off the bat, if you're annoyed that I didn't acknowledge a point when I already said that I came back down here for a good reason (which you might call vague but you already knew I had an interview lined up so I can only really be guilty of not bringing it back up) then I apologize but your point, while valid, is a bit silly. You're right in that I could go anywhere, but that was established by my applying for jobs in multiple places. Richmond was the first to bite so I came down here, my bad?

I applied in new york first, I applied in richmond second because I had my state license there and I needed to renew it as well as my national anyway so it was good to get it out of the way and be on top of things (btw thank you for all the help on that). I applied elsewhere afterward, correct.

I mean obviously the bottom line is to get home and not get dead so if it costs an extra 30-40 bucks (I think the last time I took a cab back home it ran at slightly under 35 from midtown manhattan to south brooklyn but in that case it was because there were 4 of us and we were dragging a TV along at 3 in the morning all plastered, so it was rather obvious that was going to happen anyway) and you're in that situation without a choice then so be it, priorities. Unless you live way out in like east new york or the extremely northeast section of queens, you're probably within 5 blocks of some sort of train station at all times though. If you're deciding to make a large tab at a manhattan bar or something then you're probably within 3 blocks (granted 3 avenues might be a 12 minute walk especially at drunk stumble pace) of the line that leads you directly back home.
Man the cab drivers in New york were fucking retarded. Learn your fucking city. Every single one of them had no idea where shit was. Why dont they have a GPS?

Philly is like a checkerboard, except instead of checkers on the board there are many fat people eating cheesesteaks.

car services were so much better than fucking cabs, the cars were never stinky/dirty, the guy usually spoke decent english and you pay a fixed rate based on the distance which you can ask about when you call them instead of finding out you are paying 50$ and getting yelled at for not tipping in a cab

cabbies in japan are fuckawesome btw, and remember, no street names there (especially Tokyo) when I had to go from train station to the host family I was staying at the first day in Kanazawa, the cabbie pulled to the side of the road to confirm my destination in my broken Japanese and didn't start the meter till we left, then when we got to the general area he stopped the meter as he searched for the correct house.
the fucker was even wearing white gloves and an official looking hat.

Yeah, we did a car service once, the guy showed up in a nice Tahoe, and took us straight where we needed to go. All 6 of us.

The buildings are numbered, except they're ordered chronologically by when they're built so the numbers scattered all throughout the fucking city. If you had come to VA Davide would have told you all this like he told me while I was there.
