i worked in a mall for 2 christmases. fewer people show up to those than you'd imagine. given, more than a normal morning but still doesn't hold a fucking candle to midday.

Day after thanksgiving at Toys R Us was the worst day of my life. People standing outside in line in the rain at 4am.

Because finding a job in new york in a recession with no degree and 2 relevant licenses in VA meant that I was more likely to land one here. It didn't helpt that instead of getting what I needed to go back to school, I instead got prematurely evicted and told to find a place to live with about 4 days notice. The last month of being a vagabond cost me less than rent will this month. I'm still applying up and down the east coast, if I get anything at all I'll move to where the job is.

Paying the rent is not the issue, I'm covered for the next 3 months. I just need to establish income for the following months.

Also I'm gonna point out that having a license and a car makes richmond awesome because you get to leave it. Otherwise who the hell do I know around here that wouldnt be a 2 hour fiasco to just see in the first place?

Richmond is fine if you like drinking or staring at old buildings. Otherwise, 100% of the fun shit to do is already in your apartment, and I say otherwise loosely because you can drink at home too.

I'll be the first to admit that I didn't make use of every last moment I lived in NYC, but shit's a no contest. Hell, even if all you do is drink, having a metro is still leagues ahead if for no other reason than someone doesnt have to be DD.
