Stuff like animals I don't have a problem with, I'm from Texas, I've been shooting raccoons with my pellet rifle since I was like 12. BUGS ARE COMPLETELY FUCKING DIFFERENT.
I just remember being stung by a wasp as a kid and having to be taken to the emergency room and I've been terrified of them ever since.
I've killed a a few rats with the round/flat end of the broom you can detach while it is on the mouse trap by snapping their necks
now that I think about it, if I actually had to deal with that, I'd most likely go all territorial again, like at the beach with the ants when they bit my woman
that being said in all honesty I'd probably be all snobby/prissy and be like WOW F THIS
and just move
I just never had to deal with vermin bigger than bugs
City bwah'
And by gorillas, I mean niggers
when i worked at the serpentaria at Taronga Zoo for 2 weeks in year 10 for "work experience" I had to kill baby mice for the little snakes to eat. They had a "killing wall" which was basically a big bloodstained wall that you threw the baby mice against with all your strength. Apparently it was the "most humane" way to kill 'em, but I think that's just cos they didn't bother to use the gas for such tiny animals.
Bigger animals got put straight in -- i remember we got these super fluffy rabbits (probably angora now I think about it -- wahhh such a waste of wonderful spinnable fluff!) and the head reptile keeper had to shave all the fluff off them so he got out the clippers and gave em a #2, then they threw 'em in live to the rattlesnake exhibit.
The next bit was pretty awesome if you're vaguely morbid -- the snakes sat in their log while the rabbits wandered around confused, then when one came near one snake lazily reached out and chomped on, then disappeared back in the log, and the rabbit basically hopped around crazily til paralysis set in. It was pretty cool to watch but kinda sad
Reptile keeping was the most awesome work experience ever.
We generally kill mice by cervical dislocation at this university.
Although a killing wall sounds much much more efficient.
This thread gave me many laughs.
