Meh PoL doesn't take that long to reinstall I guess.
Time to find a new scanner. This is what I get for being lazy and using my ISP's provided protection.

Can we get a DLL comparison for sure to really put this thing to bed? I'd rather play it ultra safe instead of just assuming McAfee is dropping the ball again.
just got the same file from a friend, mcafee instantly quarntined it again
friend scanned it with AVG and found nothing so hurray for mcaffe, piece of shit
Getting the file from a friend, will reopen and check for another false positive. If it fires off then mcafee is just horse shit.
Can't really do too much about McAfee here. It would cost thousands to switch.

Yeah... Mcafee worked fine for as long as I've used it >.>
gimme the name of the DLL, Ill post a cap of what it looks like on my system
nm, POLCORE.DLL cap incoming
It has to be an epicLulz false positive by shitty McAfee.
I just scanned with the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection and turned up nothing.
I can't even pull polcore over MSN lol. Stops at 0 KB and tells me to gtfo.

windows XP SP3 32bit. your results may vary depending on what OS you have
McAffe is a virus in its own right. It took forever to stamp it off an old family laptop that I was trying to fix up.
And PS it's pretty cheap to change away from it, considering there are pretty good free antivirus softwares out there.

my XP copy of it, vista users probably need the vista one which I dont have access to atm
Is there no way to configure Mcafee to allow the file?
Not sure if it's a good idea to just tell mcafee to ignore this. But it can be restored and set to ignore, I think.
I restore the file, but then when I go to open it it gets Quarantined again.. how do I set it to ignore it?
Just got hit with this... can't find the "Trusted List" for MaAfee... we have restored the computer to yesterday hoping that would help and it didnt. We restored the file from McAfee and it still didn't allow the file.
I was about to comment on this. Every AV is different. You must set the file to "Ignore List" first and then "Restore" it.
Otherwise, the Real-Time Protection will just re-quarantine it (I'm not familiar w/ McAfee, so you might want to ask someone who has used that feature before).
