I haven't played this yet. Been no rush to really. From afar I don't like the sound of it one bit. But this is from the perspective of someone who hates "leveling." It could be fun in spite of the silly game design decisions. (I guess anything can be fun if you play it with friends)

i am a bro gamer and get a lot of enjoyment out of this. i like my games relatively simple (i dont mean difficulty wise) and entertaining, if you are like me you will probably like it. its like a fun version of fallout 3

As much as anyone may dislike level grinding, everyone loves some stand alone RPG type shit. You can play this whole game solo and get one hell of a good time out of it. OR... You can play some online co-op and enjoy shooting some skags and bandits and have a hellavu good time. If you like L4D this is the next progression in the co-op genre.

There are only two choices with this game ... You either love it or you hate it. Deal with it. Even solo this game has some serious playability. Add in the co-op factor and it makes it top tier.

Edit: Also, I'm having an easier time on my second play through. I seem to be running everyone through. I remember getting my ass wrecked on some parts when I played the first time but all I'm doing now is dominating.

Borderlands: Skill Tree is the build I'm using/going to use, although I might change something around so I can get +25% dmg on crit, but the survivability of that build is amazing.

I'm currently level 30, but since I got to New Haven I have had literally no problem just rushing into every group of enemies, generally one or two shotting everything. I'm using some Orange Shotgun that I bought from the vendor (I think Friendly Fire is it's name).

Anyway, just so you guys know, Phase Strike is apparently broken, so I wouldn't make any builds around that until it's patched:

Just got this today. Played for about an hour and so far I'm liking it. PSN is ulmega if anyone is up for a game later on.

I made the mistake of trying to collect the 50 shards from the caves. I was level 12. I managed to get all the shards and grind my way up to level 15 by playing smart. I also managed to get a 2 shot shotgun that is my savior at this point. 50 x 9 damage. The only downside is it's only two shots. But most of the time I can drop whatever target is coming at me with the second round.
