That was probably the issue, I was shooting them in the head without recognizing that they were armored that heavily. I'll go back and try it later.

I wouldn't really advise trying to do them more than 1 level below the recommendation. The shock one is easy, but the fire one is a pain in the ass and will just keep charging you.

I'm 16, I just played my cards the wrong way and wasn't prepared for Moe to come lunging at me out of nowhere.

So how is this game? It looks ok, debating PC or PS3 version.

I hate FPS games and I'm loving it. Get the PS3 version though, I need an online partner.

I love FPS games, does that mean I'll hate it? lol

It's not like Fallout is it?

Sort of. Sometimes you'll miss shots with a Sniper and be like "The fuck? I clearly hit him." But there isn't really much to compare aside from that.

The game is more focused on being an RPG though, so even great aiming won't get you far unless you don't upgrade your guns and get the proper equipment/talents as well.

I'd say grab it on the PC if your rig can handle it. The game looks really amazing and plus playing FPS on consoles is always lame compared to the PC.

I'm absolutely hooked, got for 360 yesterday. It's like fallout only in the rpg/wasteland, but gameplay is a lot different since no VATS.

I might like it then, whats a good class to start off as? I might DL this on steam in a few.

I was reading forums, some people complain about sniping, some people think its easy and fun...

Also I'm still looking for some people to co-op with while my friend gets his PC fixed. GN on Gamespy is Leftarmpunch.
Imho, all of the "<boost> after killing an enemy" were useless for me as i played co-op most of the time, and a 1/3 chance of killing the enemy wasnt worth the slots.

solo though, i can see the skills being alright; fucked if im gunna respec every time i play solo tough.

I started as Mordecai lvl20 now, Sniping has been both annoying and rewarding depending on the gun.

I was absolutely terrible with the Sniper Rifle's until I went to Old Haven. That place will make you learn to headshot like a pro.

How effective is powerleveling in this game? I've never had it done for me, but I figure I could probably easily get some decent level characters if it goes rather quickly, but if it's rather slow I dunno if it'd be worth the effort.

It's pretty damn effective and easy. I got 10-25 in less than an hour last night on a secondary character going through friends' second playthrough in Arid Badlands. I imagine it'd be a breeze if it were in the Eridian zones. Even your skills go up, and you don't even have to fire a bullet...just stand there with whatever weapon you want leveled.

Can anyone attest to the improved item drop rates with a larger group?

Yea, Old Haven is a fucking bitch in the ass. I'm still trying to clear it and I only got one smoke signal out of the way. Snipers are your best friends against those turrets. -_-. Fucking turrets.

I'm only level 18ish on my Siren, but I use SMGs, Snipers, Assault Rifles.. the works. I have a SMG with like 14 damage but X2 Fire, and then an SMG with 30 damage base. Dunno which is better, but the fire seems to collect damage faster.

As far as Sniper Rifles go.. I'm pretty good at it and I'm connecting to a private game hosted in Europe (Kiarax), so.. if I were to host games, it'd probably be even easier.

    PC btw.

Threw this game in the Xbox yesterday and I'm hooked. I hated Fallout but this is just good mindless questing and looting fun. I'm not a big fan of the cell shading (I guess that's what you'd call it?) art but the game looks nice and I like how the numbers fly out of the mobs as you shoot them

Despite that regular weapons will have higher dmg ratio, the ele weapons should do more damage long term due to the DoT once it kicks in. In Old Haven, my corrosive SMG does wonders against those Crimson Lance bastards.
