finally worked out my connection issues, have to say I'm fucking loving this game so far, the most fun I've had in a while. killed Sledge last night with a party of me (19 soldier), 2 18 hunters and a 16 siren. was a really intense battle. really enjoying my soldier so far, fuck this game is great. I'm going to be playing this for the next five or six months, easy, even without DLC.

You can definitely get them at any level, I had a blue Scavenger Mod for Hunter which couldn't have been higher than level 15. Just rare from what I've heard and seen.

Everyone's a DD in their own way.

Roland, instead of leveling into damage/fire rate+ gets mag size+ which cuts down on reload times.. kind of significant. That, and the turret is pretty beast.
Stat is pretty cool, though. Heals you and your teammates around you. Roland is the only one who can play support, too.. I guess mord can get a mod with +15 team health regeneration but meh.

I thought lilith was pretty much the best one due to double anarchy having 15 fire rate, 130 damage x4 with mods/skills that net you +92 SMG damage and 40% fire rate with SMG ammo regen. But getting mord's bloodwing down to a 1sec recast is crazy..

Right now I'm looking for a berserker mod with +4 short fuse(6sec berserk cooldown) before I get brick to 50. With it and hopefully +56% team melee damage/39% team max health I think this:Borderlands: Skill Tree is going to be a beast. Liquidate to get right back into berserk after a launcher shot and Master Blaster to never run out of ammo. Or could do this: Borderlands: Skill Tree Unbreakable and pay back go so well with each other. Brick seems so indestructable lol

I'm not even sure how rare they are. I've seen more than a couple over my time playing (though to be fair, I did a lot of chest farming). I think I still have my purple and 2 extra blues if anyone wants them (the blues that is, i'm keeping my purple :D).

Btw, finally found a good gunslinger mod with huge ammo regen (+22). Still not perfect because of some lack of +skills, but not bad. I'm still looking for a good repeater, the one I have has terrible accuracy / low clip / low main damage it doesn't seem worth it, even with a huge speed and x2.

It feels like it should, but in my experience, bloodwing's AI really inhibits the power of the build. He's constantly getting stuck on shit making his return take forever, which in turn delays a resummon. In open areas it can be pretty beastly, but in some of the more dungeon like areas, I'm liking a good repeater/revolver gunslinger build a lot more.

Personally, favoring Roland, his healing abilities seem kind of like added bonus to me. In a party, I tack on +ammo regen and +magazine capacity and primarily only heal when I need to (with Cauterize level 1). I find him to be a front lines kind of guy with automatic Assault Rifles or SMGs seeing how he can tear through mobs almost as fast as Mordecai with Trespass. With Quick Charge and Stat, you can practically survive Armageddon on your own.

The turret is a beast on its own, although lately I've reduced its damage to pump up my own through better guns. I'll probably go back to it and test a little more later, but for right now, I'd definitely recommend Metal Storm with a 10+ fire rate gun. Shit's awesome.

In terms of roles though, it's hard to say since Roland doesn't really speed up or control the battle pace like Lilith can with Mind Games, he just fucks shit up.

I like any Roland that equips a good +ammo regen mod. As Lilith I don't really need anyone to defend me since Inner Glow is like a 30 second med pack + aggro deflector. That and bigger shield capacity with good regen Lilith can take care of herself. Still trying to figure out a good set up, but I think Daze needs to be a part of it somehow. So many skill points to use, so little time.

Dramatic Entrance + both skills that lower cool downs is the way to go. I don't like to waste points in Mind Games even though it's great too. Daze on phaseblast is more than enough imo.

I've saved my ass a few times from using Mind Games, even only at level 2. If you don't kill shit fast enough with the SMG, at least you can stall for enough time while they're slowed. Definitely put points into that shield capacity skill on the left hand side instead of the melee/daze shit. I figured that out the hard way.

my lvl 50 mordecai is legally unkillable, unfortunately i have only used him in single player, i want to see how well he would do in a tougher multiplayer game but with MW2 coming out today i am probably done borderlanding for quite a while

I have a 720ish Maliwan volcano with 4x fire, Pele demands a sacrifice, etc
some masher with 192x7 (only 2 shots but reload is fast enough for me)
some kind of equalizer for ammo regen purposes
forget what I have in 4th slot
mods vary depending on situation
shield is 12 or 1300 and +30% HP

I've actually been having a bit of trouble deciding between Lilith Builds. Basically it's between Controller/Assassin and Elemental/Assassin:

I have a feeling I'd like the first one more, with ridiculously low Phasewalk cooldown, but am I really missing out on a lot by not putting points into Spark? Thoughts?

First one is definitely better of the two. I'd drop Inner Glow and get Dramatic Entrance and a Quick Health Regen shield though personally. I think Phase Strike is pretty worthless too, I'd rather grab Enforcer, +35% acc is super nice, as is +10% damage. Lowering phasewalk cooldown is definitely the way to go though, it's extremely fun to play. This is the build I'm using at 50, fun as hell, although Intuition could really be dropped, I love the movement speed+.

As for Spark, it's definitely a big help and depending on what mod you're using you're missing out on Spark+ bonuses too (Firefly mod is pretty great). It's very easy to get elemental procs off on SMG though, but I love having it for my shotguns and combat rifles.

You can switch Blackout with Mindgames if you want. Quicksilver can come or go if you want (SMGs are fast enough and without ammo regen you'll run out quickly while missing the majority of the shots).

pros: quick and aggressive play. You can fight till your shields are fucked then Phasewalk away from danger and regen health while doing so. I like Bullet Velocity more because of the constant bullet damage increase, since accuracy isn't much of an issue except for sniper rifles and possibly revolvers.

hmmm... tough call. I think I'll swap Inner Glow for Dramatic Entrance then. I guess the only question is whether I'd rather have Spark or Phase Strike. Assuming a Phase Strike kills an enemy outright I'd immediately be dropped down to 10 seconds until I can phasewalk again (with 5 points in Hard to Get/Blackout), right? It's really tempting to have that option but not having Spark seems weird.

edit: I guess I could drop Quicksilver instead. Hm......

Best bet is to just try em out and see what you like. I love my build just for fun factor, running around at +50%-90% move speed (Catalyst has Intuition+ aswell as lowering cooldown) and blasting people with shotguns is fun as hell. I can definitely see Phase Strike being handy, but I generally run dead center of a group of enemies and blast everything with phasewalk. Decent damage and dazes everything. In a lot of situations having to get close to one enemy to melee it would mean hitting less enemies with the blast, so it puts me off it.

Anyone know a good place to look up what the Rare text on guns does? I know a few but some I don't like 'Pele demands a sacrifice' for example.
