So I was looking through some of my old magazines to throw away and I came across the september 2007 GameInformer issue that showed off the early concept on borderlands.

Roland was white, Lilith looked weird as fuck, mordecai looked the same, but I didn't see any Brick in it. Bandits looked a lot different too it's pretty amazing how things changed in 2 years.

They actually used the old models for the other characters in the game. Commander Steele was Lilith's original model (that's why she has the same tattoos that Lilith has). Dr Zed was the original Roland and Reaver (a semi-boss in Krom's Canyon) was Mordecai's original model. There was only the 3 of them back then, so there's no known "old Brick". You can see them in one of the real old videos showing the game, at the end of the video it shows you the three of them stood infront of a sign.

You may only enter the room If you're on that quest. Once you pass it, your chance is gone until playthrough 2 (or new game)

To be specific, you have to be on that quest and not completed any parts of it.

The only other Gearbox manufactured weapons that anyone has or knows of at this point are the pre-order bonus guns from Gamestop.

In Dahl headlands at the bounty board I somehow hit their vehicle which was against the wall, it flew up in the air doing barrel rolls so high that it landed on the roof of the building. There were other things we did but that one sticks out in my head.

Fire rate 3.7 for a repeater is kinda poopy, isn't it? since you can just get a revolver with ammo regen that has roughly the same fire rate and +reload speed? Or do gunslinger mods specifically only modify repeater damage and not revolvers?

edit: also I'm jealous of all you people that manage to get x4 SMGs that don't have accuracy below 50%. I've spent hours farming chests and ended up with plenty of x2/x4s, but all with 33 accuracy at the most. Currently I'm playing with some incendiary SMG that has the "we don't need no water" flavor text, even without a firefly mod and only 2 points in spark it's pretty nuts.

3.7 for a repeater is kind of meh, but if you find a 3.7 fire rate revolver, you're holding the Madjack, because aside from that one particular gun I've never seen a revolver with much higher than a 2.0ish fire rate tops.

Gunslinger mods work for both pistols and revolvers as far as I know. Revolvers are used more for well aimed head shots because of their slow fire rate and low clip sizes, whereas repeaters were designed more as an all-around type of pistol.

And yeah, the red text items are pretty sick, I keep getting orange snipers on my sniper spec hunter that have the "Pele demands a sacrifice!" text, and they fucking rape face.

according to the Borderlands wiki, apparently the Maliwan Hellfire SMG I've been using has insanely high fire damage that procs every shot, with a chance to cause mini burning explosions that set surrounding enemies on fire as well. All I know is that for flesh enemies it outperforms any of my other SMGs, or maybe I just love burning things to death.

Yeah, if I recall correctly "We don't need no water" is essentially the same effect as "Pele demands a sacrifice!", the only difference being the weapons, and that the former doesn't trigger 100% of the time like the latter.

It is. Hellfire SMGs are sexy. Sadly, my best one is a 95 Damage one, but I do have a X4 Fire SMG that's like.. 13+ Fire Rate and 115 damage or so. It's pretty nice, so I just swap out depending on the enemies.

As far as high accuracy X4 damage SMGs.. I've yet to find one. My highest accuracy was about 32% and it's 119x4 damage.

I've taken to using my fearsome volcano to run-n-gun lol. Barely even use the scope because every time I shoot it whatever I hit dies and usually anything standing near it. (In the start of NG+ where almost everything is flesh)

Anyone looking to do a Playthrough 2? Just beat the game at Lv37'ish, kinda looking for more of a challenge / fun, did it all solo

also, my SMG proficiency just hit 38 or so, and all my others are between 5 and 7. However, I end up keeping at least 1 weapon of each weapon type in my inventory, mostly some good rares I've come across, even though I hardly ever use any of them.

I'm making a concerted effort to use some of the Eridani weapons more because I'm convinced those might be good when your proficiency gets higher, but now that I'm almost done with Playthrough 2 it takes significantly longer to kill anything with a low proficiency weapon than it does with my SMG.

I could see if the newbie stuff in playthrough 3 helps me out, I guess. Anyone know a good way of raising weapon proficiency besides shooting spiderants in the face?

oh and also, does anyone know if there's a hard cap on Inventory space? I know claptrap rescue quests in playthrough 2 and beyond don't guarantee you a backpack SDU, but I'm wondering just how big your inventory could conceivably get. I think I'm at 51 or something now, but I'm guessing it goes up to 99.

Well since there's no playthrough 3 or higher you're limited to the amount you can get once you run out of claptrap quests on playthrough 2. But on PC you can edit the amount to the thousands.

Eridian weapons are terrible, and they pretty much stay terrible regardless of your proficiency. For this ultra-rare and super powerful alien technology, Gearbox did a really shitty job of implementing them as weapons you'd actually ever want to use.

the lightning storm is pretty awesome actually, aside from the fact that it takes a while to recharge. That's kinda why I wanted to level my proficiency, since it lowers recharge time.

If there's no playthrough 3 then what happens at the end of #2? Are you stuck with no open quests? I was hoping to get a level 48 wee-wee's super booster
