The new DLC looks and sounds awesome! Hopefully I have my xbox back by then ><.

Gearbox Software has officially announced and detailed the third and "largest" helping of downloadable content for its popular shooter RPG Borderlands, the level cap raisin' "Secret Armory of General Knoxx."

Gearbox and 2K promise "brutal, never-before-seen enemies in a huge new environment complete with tons of brand new missions" as well as "entirely new weapons and items" in The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. The next Borderlands expansion will, as previously promised, also raise the level limit from 50 to... a number larger than 50.

The Secret Armory of General Knoxx appears to be tailored to challenge players "from around level 34 to level 50" according to Gearbox's announcement.

The developer did not date or price the expansion, which is due for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. But it did provide two screen shots!

Looks like some new vehicles at last!

Sounds good, Mad Moxxi's was a little bit of a let down and more missions will be nice. The giant long leg spiderants look like they'll be even more annoying than the ones already in the game though, not looking forward to fighting those.

02/02/2010: Borderlands Update 1.21 is now available for PC!

The update contains the following:

* Multiplayer connectivity has been improved; users should no longer be required to forward ports to host or join multiplayer games
* Players who experienced distorted shadows or graphical glitches after update 1.0.1 should no longer experience these issues
* The 3D Vision crosshair has been improved

About time they fixed multiplayer connect issues.

The achievement list for "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" - Borderlands' third DLC package - indicates the level cap in Borderlands has been raised to at least 61.


Rumors also have it that the level cap raise will go to 70, which sounds plausible. It's unlikely Gearbox would stop on an odd number.

There are 10 more achievements worth 250 Gamerscore. In addition to the level cap raise, it looks like we'll build cars, kill midgets and fight a big crab. Here they are:

• Making a Monster (10)
Build the New Car: Monster

• Athena, Out (25)
Rescue Athena

• Depot Demolition (25)
Destroy the Lance Depot

• Vincible (50)
Kill Crawmerax the Invincible

• Sneaky Little Buggers (25)

Ya, a bit of an awkward level cap. This looks like it'll be a lot better then the last 2 packs, can't wait. Hopefully the ps3 version will come out at the same time as the xbox version as well.
