They really weren't kidding when they said it would be soon, wasn't expecting to see this until at least 1-2 weeks. Looks like a pretty big patch will also be accompanying the DLC, fixing modded weapons (finally) and new haven chest farming. Also for Roland players, assault rifles will finally be affected by Rifleman mods, great since some of the bonuses are really nice, and combat rifles are generally terrible.

I bought all the DLC and set some money aside for this...but I somehow lost the game. Dropped 80 on the game, so kinda freaks me out.

What was there to fix about New Haven chests? Were the guns too powerful? I never did the chests-quit-chests-quit-etc thing.

Red chests seem to have better guns in it over the silver boxes and a higher chance to get the overall more rare guns. There was 2 Silver and 3 Red Chests in New Haven you could farm in a matter of minutes. There was a 3rd Silver people would get also.

I think all they did was replace the Red chests with Silver ones. At least that's what I've been reading as I'm PS3.

I think the fix is there to go along with the new enemy that will be in the game. He is supposed to have a higher drop rate on the rarest guns but they are wanting you to farm him using a group instead of solo. So instead of allowing people to get the guns without really working except for time, they took out the Red chests.

They also noted that there are some very good chests in the DLC and they're called Crimson Chests and have double the loot as a normal box.

Just did the update and checked New Haven on 360. All chests on the rooftops are silver now. Also I was exp capped at 50 and now I have no exp on my bar at all.

Also it looks like exp you get from kills at 50 right now aren't adding to the exp bar to get you closer to 51. Guess they don't want anybody getting to 51 as soon as they start playing the new content.

Sounds like I may unplug my Ethernet and get a couple last minute runs in lol. I stopped at NH after everyone I was playing with quit playing. Time to pick it back up solo I guess.

I had done a few runs in the past solo to check it out, but never found anything really amazing. But from what I've read Crimson Fastness has better stuff anyway. They didn't change any of the chests there, so I will definitely get the story moving and start farming around there.

I prefer the back door over crimson fastness, it has 4 red chests as well, and although the trek is slightly longer (not by much), the last chest above the boss fight has a way better chance of giving good items.

The last chest in the fastness churns out orange items for me like clockwork. I've literally gotten 3 volcano snipers and 2 of the revolvers like it from just that chest.

just a tip, once you get the DLC started you might want to consider leaving the new zones and gain about 3-4 levels if you're playing solo, otherwise be prepared to die a LOT.

New enemies include: Ninjas that slash you in groups of 5 and move too quickly to target, flying robots that can zap off your shields in about 1 second, crimson lance that heal themselves faster than you can damage them, and cheap vehicle-bound enemies with homing missles. Personally I'd rather have them not put in the new vehicles if it meant they could hone vehicle combat so that it's actually possible to defeat another car without a high probability of dying.

Maybe I'm just over borderlands, but I'm not having as much fun as I did with the rest of the game/zombie island. It definitely feels like they made it overly hard to pad the length.

Figured I'd buy this today. Seems like Fallout 3's Broken Steel except for Borderlands. Got the cash in the bank ($10) this morning and passed out until 5pm. Finally able to devote some time to the game a couple hours later. Did my last couple New Haven farming runs and finally went to purchase 800MSP.

...Why the fuck do they only sell it in increments or 500 online and 800 card cards in the store? I'd need to pay $12.50 for 1000MSP and have the extra 200 laying around for God knows how long. Can't even buy anything half interesting like a Theme or Picture Pack without spending 240. Fuck.

We'll see what tomorrow brings. I'll probably cave in and spend the extra $2.50. Don't have nearby stores that sell the cards. >.>

Also, anyone on the 360 have any decent snipers for trade? Looking mainly for an Atlas Cyclops or a Dahl Penetrator. Got a handful of rares I've been packing and a 1.9k~ shield (it's legit, foudn it myself) I could trade.

The DLC is out on Steam, the Steam page doesn't mention any SecuROM this time, which means I might actually buy it. Assuming that's actually true and not just an oversight (which has happened before). Anyone can verify that it has no SecuROM?

HOWEVER, apparently when you level up past the old level cap, the rest of the game doesn't scale. It all stays at 50. Meaning the end of the new DLC is about the only thing you can keep playing, because everything else is ridiculously low. A LOT of bitching about this on their forums, haven't read the thread yet, but hopefully they plan on fixing that.

Are you sure? I bought the DLC but it's completely unplayable right now, it freezes every 15 minutes. It seems to be a common problem if you're playing on an original 60gb ps3.

Yeah, even after a restore it refuses to recognize blu-rays, DVDs and CDs. iirc I have one of the 80gb models made around christmas 2007 (the ones that have the highest failure rate)

Not everyone with an original ps3 is having the problem, but it does seem to be exclusive to only 60gb models.
