Is it supposed to take effing forever to level-up post 40? I've beaten the core game and Zombie DLC, having done every single quest for both, and my XP bar is crawling along....
Granted I'm still on playthrough 1, perhaps the general XP is boosted in playthrough 2?
Yeah, ended the core game at 37, hit 40 during Zombie Island DLC, which I loved more than I thought I would aside from the lack of fast-travel between zones (I'm lazy). It just feels like I won't even hit lvl60 before I finish the DLC of playthrough 1.
DLC mobs so far seem to scale to my level so at least I'm not just flying through everything.
I've started the claptrap DLC at Lv51, doubt I'll be 60 before it is over seeing as how most of the little shits are ~37. Honestly do not get how people grinded to 60+ before the DLC, shit would make my eyes bleed. Game is fun, but fuck I hope Borderlands 2 has more content and customization.
Finally got my 360 hooked up and working on finishing this. It was much more fun online but all my friends are on different times than me now. Is joining a random game asking for pain?
there were a lot of hacked guns online that made the game really laggy a year ago..dont know if its still the same now
is anyone interested in doing the last 2 dlcs on xbox? been thinking about playing this again and finishing those up
I've found it's a waste of time to join random games online. For me anyway.
I enjoy tooling around solo though.
Would it have really killed Gearbox to add a fast-travel or two for the DLC areas? General Knoxx is bloody long compared to most as far as travel goes, and you get stuck back at the t-bone junction every time you quit the game.
I will say though, the devs really seem to have found their groove with these DLC add-ons. Makes me optimistic for a Borderlands 2 if they can keep that balance of humor/design up compared to the otherwise bland core content of Borderlands 1.
Is there a PC demo for this game? All the google searches give me info from back in 09. Though I guess that alone might tell me the answer is 'no'.
I love the Knoxx content, but cannot stand the lack of fast travel and the fact that everything is so far away. Needless vechile traveling is not fun.
I disagree about the core content though. The game is about shooting stuff and looting. There's plenty of that in the base game. The story is thin for sure, but I always felt like there was something worth doing. On that level, I really don't see this game as any different than Diablo 2.
Diablo 2 had a little more variety of types of locations to visit within each act. Majority of Borderlands is brown outdoors, with the rare cave section, a particular section with docks and boats, and the final bits near the end with all the snow.
But yeah, really hating Knoxx for lack of fast travel. They could have at least let you open up shortcuts past the areas of road which are blocked off entirely and require you to walk/gun through it on foot. Definitely going to take me awhile to get all the trophies for this DLC. Is there a recommended level for Crawmerax solo btw, or is he something I should leave for the last thing I do in playthrough 1? I recall reading about killing him altering the level scaling of mobs in the run or something.
(grabbed it during the steam sale) i played this for the first time today for about a half hour and it was just fun. i'm happy with the purchase, and i figured i'd rather have it on a console but probably due to bc2/vietnam lately i'm used to fps again on the pc. i'll check back in on this thread while playing it more but i'm sorry i missed out on this game for so long.
Anyone have any tips to offer on grinding out the pizza's, oil cans and bobble heads for achievements? Outside of farming the shit out of the last boss.
Jesus christ Knoxx is a long DLC. Just cleaning up the post-story quests and then off to either grind Moxxi for the trophies (no XP is a big turn-off), or do the Claptrap DLC.
Regarding Crawmerax, is it possible to do it solo? I tried going in at lvl44, and got my arse handed to me by one of his minions which I couldn't even dent.
Anyways, just hope Claptrap Revolution's areas are more centralized so I don't spend ages traveling back/forth like I did in Knoxx.
yeah, use siren for ez kills. check youtube
I've done it on Roland a few times, although it's a lot more luck based compared to soloing it as Lilith.
From my understanding Crawmerax is always at least level 61 or 62(even in the first play-through) so it's impossible to kill him at 44. You're going to need to get to at least 58 to even do any damage to him.
Wish I knew about the bank at the Underdome since......I started the game. ;/
I'm pretty much done with Knoxx now, all I got left is my 3rd run of the Armory (which I'm saving for when I'm a higher level to spawn better goods at), and Crawmerax, which I'm also leaving for another time.
Moxxi's Underdome is boring me shitless though. Feels like the content was solely developed for people who co-op with 2-3 friends exclusively on the game, as its stupidly time consuming, and from first glace, doesn't offer any checkpoints in the larger arenas so you can take a breather and regroup at another time. I can't trust my net to be that stable for such a period of time. I'm just going to cheese it using the splitscreen trick, and deal with doing all this stuff legit on playthrough 2 like I planned originally for a lot of other crap in this game. No XP is a real turnoff.
Felt like something that should have been a bundled in the Ned DLC as that was pretty short overall, rather than a separate thing. Definitely is something I want to try at the level cap on playthrough 2 with others (using legit weapons, since a lot of online players seem to be cheating...) as it looks to be a riot with buds.
Will be doing Claptrap DLC on playthrough 2 as I'm fucking tired of just breezing through the content 10 levels lower than I am, and I want to get some new weapons that are of-level rather than 31-33'ish. I feel like my character has been stagnating for the past 12 hours of gameplay.
