    Marvel Motion Comics: Astonishing X-Men

Get psyched for the upcoming Motion Comics spectacular! Watch now! | Marvel.com News | Marvel.com

Here it is, the first full-length trailer to the hotly anticipated ASTONISHING X-MEN: GIFTED Motion Comic, based on the seminal comic story by superstar scribe Joss Whedon (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer) and renowned artist John Cassaday (Captain America)!
Now you can get your first look at Marvel’s newest motion comic (available October 28 on iTunes) as the X-Men embark on a bold new mission!
Not sure what to think of these "Motion Comics" really. But it's Joss Whedon's story so I'm sure I will give it a shot.

(I know there is a "comics to read" thread, but wanted more opinion on "motion comics")

That looked horrible. Just horrible. I loved Whedon's writing on this story when it came out years ago but this is just a gimmick to make an extra buck.

Eh, if crappy little flash animations can have popularity, I can see a market for this. But yeah, it is kind of an in-between between comics and actual animation.

While I can't say I'm looking forward to any of it, I've always thought Cyclops in the rubber cappish suit looked like an idiot.

Why not just buy a trade paperback? I didn't understand it when I saw the Watchmen animated motion comic and I don't really understand it for this, but there's some sort of market for it. I'd rather just buy the book.

"Wolverine, super heroes need to wear costumes."
"It's about the tights isn't it?"
    "We need to astonish them!"

looks like a pure gimmick. I would prefer to read a comic myself over having to listen / watch it in motion

Now if my physical comic book actually did all this I might be a bit more impressed lol

I still think I'd rather read a traditional comic.
