Dead spot in my Plasma TV

So my TV decided to auto turn off a safety feature on this TV. I change the outlet that the TV is plugged into and I end up with a 2 inch dead line in my TV that stretches from the top to the bottom of the TV. If anyone has any info for a fix or approximate cost it would be much appreciated. I have a picture I took on my phone but I can't post images on this forum yet I will PM it if you want to take a look.

Something like that is 95% of the time a problem with the TV but just to be sure try and verify it isn't something like the cable or the source of the video source. I find it likely that it's the panel, you still in warranty? Also, PM him or me an image to post.

i was flipping thru channels and a channel messed up my screen like this, all i did was unplug it for a few minutes to let all the static-ey stuff go away, and plugged it back in and changed channels again and screen was normal. Not sure if that would work for you though, but sure did freak me out when it happened seeing as my TV is only a few months old.

It seems like a dead spot seeing as the menu screen won't even show but I did unplug my T.V. and will leave it for the entire night to see if it fixes it. Man today has been a shitty night for me run in with the cops almost getting a DUI and my TV breaking couldn't get much wores >.<

    The image of his TV:

Are you talking about the black line down the left side of the display? That could be something random like image panning or aspect ratio being funky. What happens if you try to adjust the image to the left using panning?

I've adjusted both with no success. From the looks of it, it seems as a section just isn't receiving power. I'm still under warranty so I'm not going to open it up and take a look.

If you're under warranty, just have it taken care of. Something is wrong and it's obvious that it's a defect with the panel.

I called Panasonic they had great customer support. They called a repair facility in my area and are having them come out to diagnose the problem and fix free of charge.
