Man, that boss looks about 20x easier than the final boss for terra... especially with that tornado spam.
Perhaps I just didn't find the move to use with Terra or something but I always had a hard time getting a good hit on the guy with just about everything.

Yep, Second Chance and the one that lets you live through combos both come from melding. Generally higher tier abilities that give it.

Damn, you got there on level 1 crit or is that just normal crit run? You're a bigger man than I if the former. Could maybe abuse Aqua D-Link with Auto-Life if you can trigger during the fight.

My only REAL solution was shotlock... I mean, I could have figured the meteors out but considering that it's a bitch to even get there sometimes since I didn't have second chance or combo live or any of that cool stuff... I didn't chance it.
Just did shotlock every time.

Also good to use shotlock there because it's the only time in the fight where he won't just dodge the entire thing and laugh at you for wasting focus.

Nah I gave up on level 1 crit. Just too damn hard. Also thanks for advice Domon, gonna try that out now.

A lot of people getting their shit early from Target, very few were able to get from Best Buy, and one guy got his early from Gamefly. Everyone is trying their luck with Target, but only some got lucky and got a couple, while some got the clerk to get copy from back, but when they rang it up it showed it's not be sold till 9/7. If you're that desperate you could probably try a Target if one is close to you and hope you can slip away.

How long did it take you guys to finish Terra's story on Critical Mode? Also, how does Shotlock work out? It's the thing with the Cross-Hair that appears on screen, yea? I couldn't make it out that well on this small screen, but it looks like there's a timer for how long you have to aim it on the mob, unless it's automatically aimed? I see it brought up alot, but still don't know exactly what it is.

You hold L+R to bring up the aiming mode. Then it automatically locks on to enemies you target, whilst you're aiming it constantly depletes your Focus gauge (little orange gauge at the bottom right of the screen). Once you hit max amount of targets you hit X to fire it off (you can fire it off early but it's kind of a waste, since maxed targets has a little extension on the end which makes you do a ton more damage). Focus just refills whilst you're fighting. You can even meld commands to get stuff like a Guard that restores your Focus.

Took me around 15 hours to beat Terra's, but I wasted a ton of time trying to do Lv1 critical. You're probably looking at 10 hours at most if you don't hit a wall on any of the bosses and don't do a lot of backtracking. Of course if you get stuck, you can waste hours doing one boss, lol.

Ah. I see, thanks. I'm gonna try to get Terra's story asap so I can move on to Ven and Aqua. I'm looking more forward to playing with them since they seem like a lot of fun. One thing I really wanna try is Mirage Arena with AdHoc, heard that shit is pretty damn fun. Still got a fucking day left after today

I could play VC2 till then, but I don't wanna play it until I play the first, but it's becoming hard to resist now.

Basically what I did was guard everything and counter. He takes a shit load of damage when you guard and send his dark firagas back at him. I try to move out of the way of his dashes though because somtimes even when I guard and counter he will still do his combo and end up killing me(Didn't have Second Chance). Halfway through the fight he will do meteors, basically you need to shotlock him when he does this to avoid the damage because I never figured out how to avoid it otherwise.

The only other option is to over level.

I figured out the strategy, but I couldn't do it perfectly enough to get through it all without a mistake.

I'm not going to overlevel; I'll try it again at 35. If not, then 40.

On that note, anyone found a good place to level in Terra's story?

I just did the final area with the tornados that have mobs in it, after all the tornados are gone go back to world map and rinse and repeat. I think I was 29-30 when I beat him but like you said it's damn tough and have to be close to perfect or he will KO you easily.

This game can be so frustrating at times but I like it. Compared to the other KH games that have virtually no challenge unless you heavily restrict yourself, this one is much more balanced.

Cleared Terra and Ven's stories, now onto Aqua's.
