I forgot about that, but Firaga works as a alternate as well, and I know Ven/Terra can use that. I don't know if Dark Firaga works or not, but Fission Firaga should work as well, but not sure if Ven/Terra gets Fission. Either way, you can still Firaga if you have to, just slower kill is all.

Just double checked IP4, and doesn't work well with him. So best thing to do is just time your slides when he's attacking you, place down mines when he goes underground and block/dodge as soon as he comes up, only physically attack him when he summons the Cage, it's best to Shotlock him when he does that for some quick and easy damage, just repeat that and heal when it's same and you should be good. All his attacks are pretty much timed dodged, spamming sqaure will get you killed quick with all characters, especially the spinning fire. Once More, Second Chance, and Leaf Bracer helps a lot. But definitely only attack him when he summons the Cage, that's the safest time to attack without him attacking you. If you caught in the Cage, destroy it ASAP, or try to Shotlock, both works well.

I can tell you right now that regular firaga stuns absolutely nothing that Iron Imprisoner 4 does, neither does fission firaga

Yeah, just checked that now, lol. I never used it against IP4, really, but I assumed it'd be the same with him, but it's not. Only thing to really do is just time slides with Terra, and Attack/Shotlock him when he summons the Cage, and use Mines when he goes underground. I hear Sonic Blade works wonder for him as well, never tried that myself. I just used Shotlocks mostly.

Gonna try Sonic Blade x5, Mine Saqure x2, and Curaga and see how well that works.

Taking Autolock off when he does the spinning fire move helps dodge it a lot better. I just died, so didn't get to test Sonic Blade, I wonder is it quicker to do Keepers of Arena to get to IP4, I keep doing Villain's Vendetta to get to him. Mine Sqaure is pretty useful for when he goes underground, didn't know it was a full circle, I usually use Seeker Mine if I'ma be using Mines.

Holy shit, Sonic Blade so broken... just killed Iron Prisoner IV without him hitting me once spamming Sonic Blade. It stuns him everytime a hit connects, so with 5 Sonic Blades it's auto kill, unless you fail to connect first hit, then you'll have to wait for another opening to use it on him. Sonic Blade works all other Iron Prisoners as well.

Edit: You don't need 5, that's overkill, it just speeds up the kill since you don' have to slowly press Triangle. 2-3 Sonic Blades should be enough, that way when one finish, the other will be up.

Just keep in mind it can still fail if you can't connect the hits, but you should be able to survive long enough to get another chance. My first one went right under him, but the second one landed, and after that, I kept getting the first hit to connect always.

And 5 Sonic Blade is far from needed, just speeds up the kill, 2-3 should be good, 3 to be safe.

So I got to the end of Terra's story, and holy shit is this final boss hard. What the fuck is going on? The fights building up to this didn't prepare me at all. Anyone else find this hard? There has to be a better way to deal damage under 2 bars, because whatever little damage I can chip in gets Curaga'd and sooner or later I get squashed after his desperation attacks.

Might need to farm second chance, once more and leaf bracer. Especially the last one, I've died too many times while healing.

Yeah, Terra's final boss is by far the hardest one.

I just shotlock'd my way through. Was easy like that.

I'm curious as to how you did that... when I used shotlocks (any, didn't matter which) he'd just use his dash with a billion invincibility frames all day until it was finished aside from when he does the meteor attack.

I usually save shotlocks for desperation attacks, otherwise I get fucked, then my Focus runs out and I die lol. Need more than 3 Ethers.

I used the shotlock every time he used that meteor attack. Didn't have a problem with the rest of his moves.

What difficulty are you on? For me... this guy was a beast compared to every single non-secret boss in the game.
Honestly the only one that made me wish I had second chance/once more throughout the entire game.

...and even with them, while I can beat him every time I still wouldn't call it 'easy' since it's easier to fuck up and take an assload of damage from Ars Soulm or something.

Just Proud mode. I'm sure on Critical he would beat my ass.

I agree he was the hardest boss I've encountered so far. Didn't have to resort to using shotlock before fighting him...

But still, only the meteors got me every time, the rest I could avoid easily.

He really really really sucked without second chance/once more and low HP. I think I was somewhere around 80HP.

Imperfect dark bullet block? Game over.
    Unblocked Ars Solum? Game over.
Unblocked Dark Impulse combo? Game over.
Imperfect meteor rain block? Game over.
    Quake+Meteor Combo? Game over.

What made it so frustrating was each time he decided to do a new attack, it was almost certainly a game over since I didn't exactly know what was coming and pretty much everything he does killed me instantly.

Almost went to look for a guide so I could get once more but instead I did end up beating him after quite a few tries. (Would have been much sooner if using shotlocks would have occurred to me sooner, but didn't because I didn't ever use them throughout the game)
