Maybe SE is investigating to make sure they didn't find some exploit then need to nerf before announcing the kill. This isn't the first time AV has been killed like it was with PW though, so maybe they don't feel the need to announce it.

Seedz is probably right. Sawyer has been running around with a Sash and Mars's Ring and more AV items have been popping up, including a Raphael's Rod spotted recently. I talked to a JP friend of mine and he confirmed that AV had been killed by a JP shell but he wasn't saying who or how.
