Meteor dmg would be ~5500(.4)(.28) which is around 600 per person, assuming 10 people are hit. Very manageable.

Just requires a lot of manpower due to duration and the massive damage reduction AV has at low hp.

Would SE be that stupid to add a 2hour to SMN to then pull a "AV killed with kraken DRK's" patch on it a few months after it was added to SMN? I want to think they aren't that dumb, but it is SE after all.

I'm pretty sure they ARE that stupid. They would either give av something to bypass perfect defense on meteor or some other retarded shit. They tease us with stuff like this but we know they don't want us killing it "zerg style".

The PD strategy isn't a magic win button though. You'll need a lot of well geared players and coordination to kill after the damage reduction kicks in.

True. Tbh I see it winning with any group of like 40-50 people with enough coordination and cookie cutter war gear with 2hr buffs. I at least assume war would be the ideal job choice here with MS. I personally think it should be taken towards as low as possible pre zerg then just zombied/held by a few people and prep to zerg so 2hrs are there for the lowest of its dmg reduction. Would be difficult but I think its the best shot.

About 60sec after PD was used, first in log who took damage(that I can see). Wiki says it can last up to 90sec depending on skill. Pretty sure the SMNs who were there weren't really hardcore SMNs, but I think they did go all MP gear for potency.

You do know that the duration of Perfect Defense is measured based on the percentage of MP remaining out of the total, not the actual amount of MP right? The comment "all MP gear for potency" makes absolutely no sense. Perfect Defense used at 100% MP grants 90s duration, not a set amount of summoning magic skill.

I did a thread search and this seems to have not been mentioned yet, so I'll bring it up. What are the possibilities that meteor is calculated as both a physical and magical attack, in which wearing capped magic mitigation AND physical will result in a -75% (or maybe 100%? one can dream) decrease to it?

Have any paladins rocking phys mitigation gear on top of their magic resist builds for meteor noticed a decrease in meteor damage?

Or would even @75% off meteor is still a giant blast of ass rape? Easy enough to test, have someone hop onto 75 dnc near meteor time, pop FD and get blasted by meteor. Then have them get off the ground, chill for a bit and reheal then get blasted again without FD, see if there's a change. FD should be 90% dmg mitigation so if it is both physical and magical at the same time FD should take a lot of meteors damage out.

I dunno just tossing it out there, maybe it's already been tested/theorized/proven wrong

    This is all conjecture:
If meteor was (partly)phys based, then any pld who used sentinel or invincible when it went off could answer. And seeing as how no one has mentioned anything about it with those 2 abilites, I doubt meteori has a phys aspect to it.

My thought's exactly, there has to be at least 1 pld in here who had invincible up when they got hit by meteor, in which case they could say if they noticed any change in damage.

On the other hand if you can only survive meteor after locking 2 hours it may be less likely as most paladins would have used their 2 hour to lock invincible earlier and would not have it up for the after 2 hour locking meteor.

Other than that I just don't see any other way to "avoid" meteor. =/

Does sentinel work on things like 1k needles/collosal blow? both can be reduced via pdt, but I dont know about sentinel...

Since there's a fair chance invinc would be used to lock AV's invinc, then this may have been completely overlooked.

And having a huge rock dropped on your head would be more "physical" than getting zapped by lightening... It's just a question as to wether SE would think like that.

I'm fairly sure Meteor is purely magic. I had about -50% magic damage taken and MDT during the AV zergs and generally took <50% damage compared to the DRK I was Chainspell curing. They had a shitton of HP, so they lived, I had -50% magic damage taken, so I lived. Meteor is survivable without Fealty, but you have to constantly be wearing meteor-eating gear and it isn't cheap.

You do realize this argument is nullified based on the fact that every Stone magic spell has a bunch of rocks getting dropped on your head, right?

    Carry on with the lunacy
